The JSC is very dirty, but in fact it has a lot more detail than the Definitive Collection, Faces, and even the GOUT DVD, which is why we're using it. It is also the source closest to the original film colors, which were altered in '93, again in '97, and yet again in 2004. I guess we didn't explain it very well, but these screens are after shots of the LD transfer, sans color correction. These are shots that Laserman worked on with the Black Magic workstation, which combined elements from multiple laserdisc sources as well as the GOUT DVD I believe. The cleanup and preparation of the LD captures is a lengthy process which we will explain in the next article.
