Info & Help: looking for... Superman 1 KCOP?

Anyone got a rip of this, I’ve been thinking of trying to mix (through pan-scanning the DVD VOBs and cross-editing it in) a partial upgrade to this and the RIC of Superman 2.

Torrent’s prolly best, I can’t find it anywhere, don’t really want to deal with an older PAL source if I can help it.

Rik put it on Spleen in PAL format.

IIRC, the KCOP version has a couple minutes not even the Australian broadcasts had.

Also since I work in NTSC, that's one less phase of conversion...

Maybe I'm wrong, but I though that the timing difference between the Australian and KCOP editions was due to PAL speed-up, and not any additional materials.

I think the main thing is, the KCOP broadcast is much newer, so it's probably going to be higher quality - plus there's no need to speed-down the recording, the video is usable as-is.

If the KCOP version doesn't turn up...I suppose I could go for the Australian cut - but I never cared for MySpleen...

Plus it's been up there a while and can take forever depending on the seed situation. It took me a couple of weeks for both discs.

If you PM me, I can hook you up with them.
There's good in the Original Trilogy, and it's worth fighting for.

I have an off-air recording of the original extended ABC broadcast on Beta. Unfortunately, I have never been able to get it to track properly on my vintage late 80's betamax, but it might work on a different model. Anybody have a really old beta with manual tracking that still works?

I just got the 1982 Australian telecast. While it's certainly the extended cut, and thanks for sending this, I'm still asking around for a rip from KCOP for a few reasons.

1. The quality of media and of broadcasting improved between 1982 and 1994, so even an unwatched tape recorded in 1982 won't be as good quality as a comparable recording from 1994.

2. The Australian rip which Rikter released is from a very worn tape, and a 1994 recording would be in much better condition.

3. The Australian rip being in PAL will require additional tweaking - granted, such a tweak would be trivial for me, but I don't really like having to use digital slowdown to speed-correct a video. (I live in NTSC-land and my project for which I need the International Cut will also be NTSC)

(Some of this I mentioned in earlier replies.)

Obviously a Restored International Cut (which is kind-of my objective) would need the best possible source
