Finally finished

Version 2 is now in the can as well.

This "Workprint" variation clocks in at 127 minutes altogether.

Hopefully I'll be sending out copies to people very shortly

Spoke too soon, I reviewed both my cuts, and being the perfectionist I am, I've gone back to rethink a few things.

Should have it compiled and dusted tonight though

I upgraded my Womble to the latest update, the sync issues seem to have disappeared. Seems Womble couldn't handle large numbers of edits before.

I received both DVDs a few days ago but have been slammed at work so I haven't had a chance to watch either one all the way through. I did scan both of them and started watching the workprint version. I noticed a glitch where the image froze for a few seconds but I want to test the DVD on my computer and another DVD player to make sure it wasn't my DVD player having an issue.

I will be watching both and reporting back here soon. From what I have seen so far, both discs are outstanding!

Thanks again for all of your effort LeoneNut!

LeoneNut,

I got the chance to watch the LEGEND versions you created and I have just one word for you :

Bravo!

I think you did a really great job of cutting the extra footage into the film and using the Goldsmith music to integrate it successfully.

The funny thing about watching the 118 minute version for me was that I found myself realizing several things :

1) I really like the fact that in this version (and the 113 minute cut) you really get to see that Lili is not innocent and that she is changed by the experiences that she goes through during the film.

2) Seeing the alicorn restored to the unicorn at the end of the film is excellent (just like seeing it cut off earlier is cool too!)

3) The film feels really long getting to the point where the world is frozen in snow and ice. I can now see why they decided early on to cut the longer introduction to the film. I just wish we had a more finalized version of that scene - Goldsmith scored it so it had to exist at some point!

Thank you for taking the time and expending the effort to make these versions - I really appreciate it and I know that other LEGEND fans will as well.

Hi
I'm back.

DarkJedi & Sean, thanks for the glowing reviews.
Good no-one noticed the edits in the music, I tried my best to disguise them.

Sean, do you still have a problem with the workprint version freezing, hopefully just a compatibility problem with the Dual Layer disc and the player.

ZakDrittz PM me and I'll sort you out some copies

Really enjoyed doing this one.

I'll be doing more edits in the future, need a little break for now

I looked at the workprint version of LEGEND on my computer and it worked fine so I think it was just my DVD player. I'll try to double check it again.

I did notice some of the music cues that you added but none of them really bothered me for two reasons :

1) The music was all by Goldsmith

2) You did the best job possible with available sources. None of the edits was so jarring that it killed the flow of the movie.

I'll sit down and watch it again at some point and may have more thoughts for you then, if you are interested.

Also, would it be cool with you if I added the information (and a link to this thread) about the two versions you created to the LEGEND FAQ? If so, I'd like to work with you to document all of the changes/fixes/additions you made.

Thanks!

Cool

Good to hear none of the edits are jarring
Problem for me when viewing is I still remember every little edit in the video and audio and it takes me out of the film.
I'll probably watch this again in a year, and see what I think then.

No problems having details of the edits on your site, in fact I thought you might ask
I will send you a more detailed list of changes I made, there's a few more subtle ones (especially sound fx) that aren't listed on page 2 of this thread
