Questions

Do you think the display is eye catching?
Yes, but in a bad kinda way

Do you think you would notice this display at a till of a store?
ditto

Would you be tempted to buy the box set displayed?
no

Do you think the Darth Vader and Leia characters on the stand are iconic?
Obviously, otherwise ppl wouldn't be talking about star wars

Do you think the design of the box set is interesting?
Not so much interesting, more peculiar. Looks like crazy pokemon ball.

Would you display the box set?
for a laugh maybe

Would you automatically associate the box with star wars?
No, if it wasn't for the dart vader head i wouldn't know what the hell it was.

Is there enough information on the box?
I don't know, perhaps, but it's presented in a crummy sorta way. And there's a few spelling errors on it.

Would you pick the shaped box set over normal DVD cases?
No

Comments? i'm sorry, but i don't like it. Looks like a cross between an ashtray and a pokeball. It's a nice idea, but it needs more finetuning and effort...

edit: also way to clunky and big...

Questions

Do you think the display is eye catching?
No, it us kind of hard to tell what is going on. The Darth Vader head thing is good, but the part with the label is could work better with some more images. The three ghosts are kind of vague, maybe an image of the droids, the Falcon, or the the three main heros.

Do you think you would notice this display at a till of a store?
Yes

Would you be tempted to buy the box set displayed?
Now that depends more on internal content anamorphic original trilogy is a big selling point to me. So yes, I am sure I would.

Do you think the Darth Vader and Leia characters on the stand are iconic?
Yes, but I had to stop and think for a while to figure out why Leia was a force ghost, until I realized she was suppose to be a hologram. Maybe a white Leia would go more.

Do you think the design of the box set is interesting?
I really like the Death Star box idea. I knowyou have limited resources and that is why it is not so detailed, but I really like it. It reminds me of the Planet of the Apes Ultimate ape head set.

Would you display the box set?
By bex set we mean the Death Star DVD case right? If so then yes I would.

Would you automatically associate the box with star wars?
Yes

Is there enough information on the box?
I think it could stand to have the name of each movie listed, and maybe images to represent the entire saga.

Would you pick the shaped box set over normal DVD cases?
Yes, depending on how much more it costs. If it is considerably more, then no. Also it has the disadvantage of not fitting on the shelf with the rest of the films, but like I said, I really liked the whole Death Star case idea, so for the sake of this questionare I will say yes.

Questions

Do you think the display is eye catching?
Yes, you notice it.

Do you think you would notice this display at a till of a store?
Yes.

Would you be tempted to buy the box set displayed?
Yes. If its not too much.

Do you think the Darth Vader and Leia characters on the stand are iconic?
Yes. As said earlier, I wouldn't of gone with the Hologram Leia, but regualar Leia.

Do you think the design of the box set is interesting?
Yes. Its different from the normal boxsets, and that makes it nice.

Would you display the box set?
Yes, I'd find a place on my shelf for it.

Would you automatically associate the box with star wars?
Yes. Vader, the Death Star, Etc, is certainly very associatable with Star Wars.

Is there enough information on the box?
One thing I wondered about is what is EU? Extended Universe?

Would you pick the shaped box set over normal DVD cases?
Yes. It would be a nice set.

Comments?
The Death Star could use some more detail, but I understand that you have a limited budget to work with. I also wouldn't of put Saga between the episode numbers, but that is just me.

Do you think the display is eye catching?
Yes, kind of.

Do you think you would notice this display at a till of a store?
Yes

Would you be tempted to buy the box set displayed?
No, but if this was the only way to get original trilogy in good quality, then I'd had to.

Do you think the Darth Vader and Leia characters on the stand are iconic?
Yes, but Leia looks cheap. Maybe her putting the plans to R2 would be better, or something else. That holo fig is quite boring...

Do you think the design of the box set is interesting?
No, see comments.

Would you display the box set?
No...

Would you automatically associate the box with star wars?
No, but as a fan I would thought it looked kinda like a Death Star of course.

Is there enough information on the box?
No, needs more specific info, like what docos and maybe some screencaps or more pictures.

Would you pick the shaped box set over normal DVD cases?
No

Comments?
I don't think that looks like Death Star. I know it supposed to look when I first saw the picture, but the super laser isn't a bubble... Also the plastic looks very cheap. If it really looked like a Death Star model, like with the equator where you could open it and it had much details and rough surface, then it would look really cool and I would buy it. But I don't know how discs would look good inside, that looks that you've just put a little cakebox in there...

Yes

Do you think you would notice this display at a till of a store?
Yes

Would you be tempted to buy the box set displayed?
Not the way it looks right now, no. If it really looked like a Death Star and it really contained a remastered anamorphic OUT, then yes.

Do you think the Darth Vader and Leia characters on the stand are iconic?
Yes, but Leia should be in her white gown, not the Hologram figure.

Do you think the design of the box set is interesting?
Yes. I think I would almost rather see a Darth Vader head for the actual box though. I think that would be more recognizable to the average person than a Death Star.

Would you display the box set?
Yes either way (Darth Vader head or Death Star)

Would you automatically associate the box with star wars?
Yes

Is there enough information on the box?
Yes

Yes

Do you think the display is eye catching?
Yes - But it looks more like a cookie jar, not a DVD case. And you can't really tell what the case on it's own really is.

Do you think you would notice this display at a till of a store?
Not on it's own no. There would have to be a larger display behind it. Something like you have, but a little more eye catching.

Would you be tempted to buy the box set displayed?
Yes-But again, depends what's inside. We've all bought crappy SW packages over the years just for the films themselves

Do you think the Darth Vader and Leia characters on the stand are iconic?
No - It makes the whole thing look tacky. Luke and Vader would have worked better. Or the droids.

Do you think the design of the box set is interesting?
Not really no. It's just a round shinny thing with a lump on it

Would you display the box set?
Yes if done right

Would you automatically associate the box with star wars?
Yes of course, if the display was behind it

Is there enough information on the box?
No. All six films and EU doesn't really say much. And not many people know what EU is

Would you pick the shaped box set over normal DVD cases?
Probably not. Unless it was something truly special and not a cookie jar.

Comments?
It looks ok, just doesn't jump out at you and wanting you to buy it. If iit was the only way to buy all six unaltered films then yes I'd buy the set. I wouldn't buy the set for the packaging alone though.
Still, good effort.

EDIT!!

Ooops, Ive just seen the deadline, so I guess I'm too late. Sorry man!!

In the words of Benny Hill - "I'll be perfectly frank...I'll be honest if you'd rather"

All kidding aside - do you want honest answers or do you just want to be rewarded for participation instead of achievement?

In my opinion, it's an interesting idea in need of some tweaks. Nothing too major – and I’m aware you had limited resources. The one thing you could have easily made better is also the thing that needs the most work - the printed matter. A full bleed is ok as long as the copy isn’t too close to the edge. Yours is and that creates visual tension. Not a good thing. Also, the ghost trilogy is cut off. If you’re going to have the photo as a bleed, give it a border. Don’t make the customers’ eyes try to see beyond the edge of the sign. A border helps the eyes stop searching and refocus on the copy.

Speaking of which, your copy needs to be redone. It’s a mess. It’s inconsistent, repetitive, and some of it’s passing over your already severely cropped ghost trilogy.

I’d loose the giant red panels and put your sign (larger and reworked) behind the piece.

Also – get rid of the figures. It’s a collector’s edition DVD set, not a toy.

All that said, I do think the DVDs inside the Death Star is an interesting Idea. In fact, I'd probably loose the Vader head and go just with the Death Star. It's quintesential Star Wars - and - it's a complete entity - not just part of a character the way the mask is.
