This is fantastic, I cant wait to see this, Empire is easily my favorite and Ive been waiting a while for it to get some much needed attention and this sounds like its going to be damn near ideal as far as what I wanted to see done to it. Great work Paul

Well in the carbon chamber 3P0 says "I'm not ready to die..." as chewy attacks the troopers but the line was cut short. You can hear the extra line in the "story of The Empire Strikes Back" LP. He continues to say "...on the back of a demented Wookie."

PaulisDead2221, any idea when you will be sharing this? It looks great.

Oh, I thought it was after "if you only had reattached my legs...now remember Chewbacca, you have a responsibility so don't do anything foolish" I swear I hadn't heard the responsibility part before. Well anyway, one less re-encode I suppose.

I need yet another encode to work out a couple more flubs with extra frames. But I took a little time to work out the cover art.

If anybody else has some amazing cover art they'd like to contribute...ahem...it could only mean more for the DVD-rom folder .

And I will supply a raw, but avisynth color corrected 2004 version for Mac users. But we'd do it through mail.

In terms of when I'll share it, I've postponed my deadline again. Still have to get these extra frames outta there. If I'm a member of Demonoid, can I upload a torrent on my own? Or do I need "uploader" status like myspleen?

On the 'noid, any member is an uploader. Can't wait!

I used to be very active on this forum. I’m not really anymore. Sometimes, people still want to get in touch with me about something, and that is great! If that describes you, please email me at [my username]ATgmailDOTcom.

Hi everybody. You’re all awesome. Keep up the good work.

I CAN'T WAIT FOR THIS EITHER. I PROBABLY HAVE EVERY VERSION OF THE OT EVEN ONE THAT I MADE THOUGH I'VE NEVER RELEASED IT OR DETAILS ABOUT IT I REALY LOOKING FORWARD TO SEEING THIS. I LOVE THE COLOR CORRECTIONS. I DO HAVE ONE QUESTION THOUGH. DID YOU CHANGE LUKE'S SABER BACK TO BLUE AND VADER'S BACK TO RED AS THEY ARE MOVING FROM ONE ROOM OUT TO THE PLATFORM ABOVE THE CHASM ??? I BELIVE IT ONLY LASTS ABOUT THREE FRAMES OR SO. IT'S VERY, VERY HARD TO MISS, BUT IF YOU NEED A SCREEN CAP AS PROOF THAT IT'S THERE I WILL POST ONE.

It has always been there, you can just hear it better in the SEs.

Im glad someone put my manga covers to very good use. Looks damn nice. For a release like this its an honour that you used somthing of mine as a part of it. It also has a criterion feel to it, which is always a good thing. Do we get to see the complete package now?

A question: If I'm not mistaken, your version of ESB is being shown THIS week, right? Does that mean it should be ready for torrenting?

Hm, I'm not sure. I've read about some lightsaber inconsistencies in closeup shots and stuff, but if it's something that's been there from the beginning, I don't think I will. Though I am thinking over a SW Tri-Edit, where I'd actually be "fanediting" more instead of "preserving," and might try to fix stuff like those inconsistencies. Post a screen, that's real interesting.

Darth Solo, you're the one who put together the manga covers? Yeah I've been waiting to print them out...alternate text....or something. Thank you so much for bringing them here!

bkev's right, the super-duper premiere is tomorrow. I've just watched the final DVD and I think it'll do. 8 gigs big...8 gigs of just video and audio. Is that excessive?

It seems like quite a chunk of storage. Forgive me if I'm wrong, but I didn't think the official encode was more than about 7 gigs. However, if you've been able to maintain the quality of the DVDs, then personally I don't think it's excessive. Since this is supposed to be an improvement over the DVD, then anything up to and inlcuding a DL disc is fine. Hell, I just want to SEE it

MY DVDS ARE ONLY 4.7 GIGS T.T

Is there a way to squash it down a bit, maybe take out menus (if any) or something?

He could make a single-layer (4 GB) and dual-layer (8 GB) version.

Or, you could get someone to send you the 8 GB version. Your DVD player should still play it. And if you ever wanted to copy it, you could use something ala DVD Shrink to do so.

Now, I'm aware of single-layer/dula-layer discs. But, what's the main difference? Is it two-sided or something?

I've looked it up but it's all so complicated! (sorry if I'm being a pest)

DL are single sided, dual layer, like a commercial disc. 4.7GB worth of data vs. 8.5 GB. If the final product exceeds the length of a SL disc, it's worth it to many to have the DL version (unless the difference is less than half a gig or so, at which point the recompression looks negligible.

A dual-layer DVD is like a see-through cake with two layers. Each layer can hold data. So, when a laser needs to see the top layer, it looks at that one, and then when the data ends, there is a layer break that tells it to begin reading through the first layer, down to the second layer of data. If your DVD burner is new, you ought to be able to burn DL discs.

OK, I have dvd+r's from Maxell that say they hold up to 4.7 gigs of space. This is single-layer, right? Is there a certain place I need to go to get dual-layer discs?

EDIT: actually, could someone post a worst-case scenario comparison of how bad it may end up looking?
