you may need a different version of zlib, there are a few around.

What error do you get?

grisc.exe - Unable To Locate Component - This application has failed to start because zlib1.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem.

When the zlib1.dll that I was using was there, the DOS window would appear for just a moment before closing. I'll look for other zlib1.dll files.

You are opening a dos window (Start/programs/accessories/command prompt) and then changing to the correct directory (e.g. cd\mystuff\unpacker or wherever you put grisc) and typing the commands in manually?

You're not just double clicking on grisc?

Okay Laserman - you can kill me now. Please forgive me - the most experience I've ever had working in DOS was loading Doom II.

I now have my extraction. Thanks for smacking me in the head.

[Windows tip]
Another thing you can do is create a text file in the same folder as the grisc program. Type just the grisc command into it (not the 'cd c:\somefolder') just as you would do in the dos window. Now save the file and change it's extension from .txt to .bat

Now just double-clicking on the .bat file will do everything, and it's there for future use !
(this works for any command you can type into a dos window)

Could I ask which tool (windows) would convert the grisc output of 100s of images into an avi file ?
I had thought perhaps there was an aviSynth script that might do it ?

cheers.

[PS grisc works perfectly on my pc on all 4 deleted scenes, however grisp plays the treadwell and 2 Biggs scenes but the cantina clip comes out like a scrambled satellite channel. Could be a zlib1.dll problem.]

Virtualdub will do it on Windows and is free, as for paid software - quicktime pro, adobe premiere almost any serious video editing package will do it.

Thanks Laserman, I was playing around with aviSynth, Vdub and Vdubmod all weekend and never noticed that option before on the Open Video dialog.

ok,
i have these 2cds right next to me, and have
tried playing them under windows xp with
the compatibility set to windows 95, and they
barely work..

i'll try 98..but i don't know..

has anyone else got them to work..

also, does anyone need the files, i'll be unpacking
and looking at those shortly..

(i know all the deleted scenes have been converted,
so we probably don't need those)..

thanks..for any advice..
