Hi there,

is there any possibilty for a "normal-dying" person to get their hands on the uncut satellite TV Cut of Waterworld?

Normally this one is a good address for this: http://www.asylum00.com/ , but hey are only selling of the edited ABC Cut, not the one from Encore/Starz.
Is there any other site on which this full uncut extended version is available by now?

Did this project die? Would it be possible to get the movie up without all the extras? Are noobs here allowed to bump threads and post random questions?

I want to see this, can't wait until perhaps it shows on torrent. I always thought Waterworld had a Mad-Max-like quality to it and it's a shame it was such a flop for Universal that we'll likely never see a real release. It'd have been nice of them to put the deleted scenes on their HD-DVD disc, what with all the room, but nooo...

Is this a composite edit or a straight dub of the TV edit? It would be great to see the rare VHS footage cut together with the superior DVD (especially with the TV edits taking out cursing, etc.)

It'd be nice to see the damn thing, period.

Why is this still a rarity, dammit? I sent it out to at least three people that asked for it in this thread.

Hell with it, I'm going to try to get it on RapidShare in the next week.

I used to be very active on this forum. I’m not really anymore. Sometimes, people still want to get in touch with me about something, and that is great! If that describes you, please email me at [my username]ATgmailDOTcom.

Hi everybody. You’re all awesome. Keep up the good work.

Hi guys just seen this thread, I have a copy of waterworld the extended cut that was shown once in the UK on the SCI FI channel it was shown around 8pm and it was the only time this extended cut was shown I know for a fact it's the extended cut but what should I look out for regarding cuts for violence or language it's been quite a while since I watched it but from what I remember it was uncut I think, the copy I had I did to DVD some time ago for my collection it was off sattelite and the quality is great, with menu only a static one I'am afraid had it some time now didn't know there was an interest in it, would gladly trade a copy for a fan edit or extended movie of interest to me. just PM me.

Interesting, I'd be curious to see if your copy is of higher quality than the Encore broacast of the extended cut (which is not censored for language, and is the version I have).

ReverendBeastly, would you consider distributing via Demonoid, rather than taking the Rapidshare route? I no it's not polite of me to ask, but...I'm desperate.

I don't much like doing DVD torrents... However, since the guys in this thread that I sent the discs to just seem to have leeched and ran after I specifically asked them to spread it around ::glares with anger at these nameless souls::, and I do love Waterworld...

Yeah, sure, I'll do it next week.

So, let me see if I'm on the same page: this extended cut, which lorang got from Sci-fi, and ReverendBeastly got from Encore,

1) Has no cursing/violence edits
2) Is a high quality digital sattelite capture

...and thus doesn't need to be cut together with the commercial DVD? If that's so, deal me in. I'll seed like crazy.

Yeahy. Thank you so much Reverend. Im really looking forward to seeing this. It does take a few days where you leave the computer on constantly and cant use the internet, just to get it to others, but i for one will really apreciate the sacrifice made.

Its a shame some do not share the same enthusiasm in what they have, in the way they longed for these exclusive cuts in the 1st place. The wheel does stop turning with them.

Mcfly89 i think they are two slightly different extended cuts of the film described here, so if your looking for an extended cut without the course language that lorang has obtained then this isn't the one for you. Still, im gonna seed the bugger to death once i've downloaded it, just to get it out there.

I don't know anything about the Sci-Fi version, but the Encore version that RB has includes all the cursing and whatnot.

As far as quality, I seem to recall there being a couple of caps posted a long time ago, and I believe it's a VHS transfer, so the quality isn't fantastic...but you take what you can get. RB, if I'm wrong about the quality, please correct me.

Edit: I found the screenshot. It's on the first or second page. Here's the image:

As you can see, the quality isn't to write home about, but keep in mind, as far I know, the last time this aired on TV was a few years back, when DVD-recorders were a little more uncommon than they are now, and movies were shown a lot more in full screen. Actually, just did a little reading, and the director's cut aired on ABC in 1998, and I'm kinda assuming it's been about as long since Encore showed it, so....damn near 10 years ago.

BTW, from what I understand, this is about 2 hrs and 56 minutes, 40 minutes longer than the original, so quite a treat.

Oh yeah, and btw, earlier in the thread, somebody mentioned a version of Home and Away that was about 40 minutes longer than the original. Does anybody have that bad boy floating around? Not a bad movie, so I'd like to see the longer version.

Right, tweaker, this is from the Encore broadcast, and it features all the cursing and stuff cut from the ABC broadcast.

As censorship laws in England are different than in the US, I'm not sure what, if any, dialogue edits were made to the UK Sci-Fi broadcast. Since it's a VHS source (even if it is a satellite broadcast), it may well still look like the one I've got. Then again, it may look better. The one I have looks about like those screencaps posted above. Perhaps I'll wait and see if the other fellow chimes back in with screencaps from the UK Sci-Fi broadcast so we can see what's up.

No, no no no nonononono. The last time someone did a "wait and see because so-and-so has something better", we went six months with nothing happening. You've got a copy that can be uploaded now...you're willing to upload it soon...what's the worst that could happen? You upload it, and a couple months from now, somebody comes up with a slightly better VHS-rip? Oh, the horror... 9.9

Up this bad boy, and we'll deal with the consequences later.
