Yeah, I devoted a political talk show sort of thread to him intending him to be the host so he could argue rediculously controversial topics. Shortly after that he just vanished. I guess during all this time of members demanding his banishment all that they ever needed to do was devote a thread to him and he would disappear. Wasn't my intention but it worked. Who would have thought?

As far as the "is this what every one wanted comment" I know plenty of people who definately wished he would leave. He loved to argue, and and you couldn't say a bad thing about the PT without facing him. He could be pretty annoying, and come to think of it, he is the reason I stopped even bothering to checkout the General SW discussion thread. But I would not say that I personally wished him to leave. He really didn't mess with the off-topic and preservation threads much. Before he left he had been spending more time in off-topic, perhaps if he had done to it what he did to SW board, then I might have had a stronger opinion against him.
