I would say yes to colour correction.
Don't let your lack of FX knowledge stop you. I knew absolutely nothing before i started my edit. Try and get Adobe After Effects for your FX work. It pretty easy to use and can do almost anything you'll need, once you get use to it. Just do a lot of experimentation to achieve your goal.
