Hey. As you all probably know, I’ve been mentioning my edit of ROTJ in the Starkiller Ranch thread. I haven’t begun work on it, as I don’t have Final Cut express yet. You probably heard about the whole Hayden double thing and the EU mentioning that you people hate. I would like your support as I have none elsewhere. I’ll post the changes list soon. You dig?

I'll use Lapti Nek from your music pack, GM. With my own footage and stop motion animation for Sy.
Is there any way to avoid using Stop Motion to create Sy Snootles?

Here is a list of planned changes for first 40 mins.:
pre-1981 Fox Logo with 1954 fanfare
New scroll with OOT starfield
Noghris (from Thrawn trilogy) are seen behind Vader in the shuttle
Greedo's diologue is gone from Hutt palace
Luke hologram has more blue tint like OOT
More droids in EV9D9's workshop
New Lapti Nek musical number
Oola adventure kept in, was purely harmless
Amani removed in all of its scenes, repalced by Muuns and Nemodians(you didn't think a greedy Nemodian would miss out on Jabba's little cartel?)
Thermal detonator has red glow around it(a la Battlefront 2)
3 Boba Fett shots flipped around
Most creatures have facial expression and blink
Rancor now has new roaring noises
Bantha shot removed
Sarlacc beak kept in, no bother
Saber repainted
After Sarlacc burps, Boba Fett is shot out of it
Cut a few shots to make room for Luke killing Fortuna with a reflected gun blast
"Trust Me"
Remove Luke saying "Come on!" because his lips were out of sync.
Falcon engine color changed
You dig?

With Final Cut Studio programs, bought seperately on Ebay and Final Cut Express as the main program on Final Cut Pro via ebay if it is less expensive.
This will be NTSC, 16:9 and will use the Classic Edition, the '04 DVD and my own footage. No, I will not openly sell this like OCP. I am now trying to be serious with you people.

Dont show the disgust smileys RemixerBoss, you aint even started yet!

But NO!!!!!!! 15 months away? I know perfection takes time but you gonna still be here to share this with us by then? Because three days ago you were emplying that you were leaving here and i'd hate to never get the chance to see this edit, or i'll be- "SAD"

But PLEASE do not drop these ideas when you make this:

- Amani removed in all of its scenes, repalced by Muuns and Nemodians(you didn't think a greedy Nemodian would miss out on Jabba's little cartel?)
- After Sarlacc burps, Boba Fett is shot out of it

Also dont get to pre-ocupied with the Hayden stand-in at the end of ROTJ at the expence of these as i would love to see prequel charecters in the OOT in Jabbas lair, and i love Boba Fett FAR to much to see him go out the way that he did in Jedi

Some of the changes seem really incredible. I think it would be a challenge for the most skilled of editors, but I do not wish to discourage you. I say have at it and see what you can do. At one point people were making fun of trooperman when he first mentioned his plans for Shroud of the Dark Side, now that we have seen some of what he could do we have been very impressed. So, don't let people discourage you, go for it. After all, you have already had enough motivation to buy the tools off of ebay, this says that you are serious about this. Even if your first few tries come out as crap, once the members around here see you are serious and want to make this work they may be willing to lend you a hand, or at least point you in the direction of some good tutorials on whatever effect you are trying to achieve. Good luck.

Absolutly. As C3PX states you are in the best crowd to take you forwards with this. Listen to their advice very closely because this is how you learn here.
Oh god yeah, that gets me thinking, im trying to remember the name of the guy who was trying to do the edit of King Kong who wanted to replace the natives of the 1933 King Kong over Peter Jacksons edition, or even use stand-ins to recreate the parts because they looked so bad in Peter Jacksons edition. I wonder if it ever bared fruit in the end??

I would say yes to colour correction.

Don't let your lack of FX knowledge stop you. I knew absolutely nothing before i started my edit. Try and get Adobe After Effects for your FX work. It pretty easy to use and can do almost anything you'll need, once you get use to it. Just do a lot of experimentation to achieve your goal.
