So Adywan, um... I'm glad you are looking into adding Yavin into some of the final shots. It sort of disappeared except for a few scenes on a viewscreen.

So do I. Hey, Ady, what did you do with the stormies on Tatooine and are there any new Imp. tech from the EU?

No, nothing extra in those scenes

Adywan, I have a question, you know the shot on Mos Eisley when Luke and Obi-Wan are stopped by the stormies?, on the SE and 2004 editions, there is a CGI Ronto walking right in front of the camera which hides our view of everything for a while, this always annoyed me, I don't see any point of having it there. Are you planning to do anything about it? remove by using GOUT footage perharps? It's not something important but I figured I'd just ask anyway, thanks for your work, looking forward to it.

I'm working on that scene right now. Not too bad at the moment but i really wish i had a higher quality vid than the GOUT to work from.

Have you considered Moth3r's transfer?
Tellan has also been working on this scene, mixing elements from different sources iirc. Maybe he can help.
You know of the rebellion against the Empire?

Just get Classic Edition 2.0, it's in great quality. No, I'm not promoting OCPmovie's activitys, I just think his is better.

I looked through Empire of Dreams and could only find a short clip of that scene mixed with behind the scenes footage and its wasn't very good quality.
I decided to use the GOUT in the end. It had the upper hand slightly on sharpness compared to the other version i have, including Moth3r's great transfer. Even with the bloody jaggies it looked better when mixing with 2004 DVD footage. Being able to use the X0 project footage would have been my dream but i was half way through doing it so i decided just to go with the GOUT and get it out the way so i can concentrate on other footage. I've completely finished the whole scene now and even though its not perfect, i'm really pleased with how its turned out.
I will post the scene later tonight but i need to go to bed now. just over 48 hours without sleep isn't good.

No thanks are necessary. Its a scene that has bugged me too. What the hell was the point in having the ronto block the screen like that? it wasn't even to hide a jump cut like in the biggs scene. Anyway the ronto is gone. heres the clip of the scene. The encoding to xvid has lost a bit of detail so it does look better in the original mpeg.
Mos Eisley scene. 13mb approx
It doesn't look like i'll be adding the Vader line from ESB because the music is too prominent , so back to the drawing board for the Vader cockpit scene ( if it ever is to be included)

The only GOUT elements used were characters missing thanks to the damn adding of Rontos for the short time they appeared. It was created using new background mattes & lots of layers ( and i mean lots. Each element was cut out separately then added as a layer) to help keep a sharper resolution. This way the GOUT was used to the barest minimum.
heres a .PSD file snapshot of one section of the scene. It will give you some idea of what was involved in creating this scene. A lot of elements are missing from the snapshot because they were already mixed down, mainly characters walking past the camera. There is a layer of the GOUT footage that was used as reference so you can see the difference between this and the GOUT.
