I was not asked for permission to use my username on any site or make quotes associated with my username on any site.I really dont want quoted on any news sites. There has been a long discussion about this piece and,as I say, there is a general consensus that this piece is not legitimate. It is felt within the prop community that if a piece cannot be definitely screen-matched,which has proved problematic at the very least with this, then it should not command this type of premium nor should it be absolutely claimed to be what it is.There is a definite lack of history on this piece and too many differences to the one seen on screen for this to be genuine in my opinion. This is based not solely on my "expertise" but on the original prop communitiy's analysis which includes many very well-respected collectors who have been collecting for many years. It is felt that there are too many differences in the stitching, hemming and seams and material for this to be definitively claimed to be ben's cloak.
Please do not quote me on any news sites.
