One of the things I love about the work Adywan is doing here is the fact that he is taking the Lucas-released Special Editions, which many of us enjoyed (at least for the most part), and tweaking the effects so that we can enjoy the film without being distracted by the mistakes made by the otherwise wonderful restored DVDs. I, for example, can't properly enjoy the lightsaber fights in the original trilogy as much as I used to, because all I can focus on is how the lightsabers are washed out, with the cores being colored and the glow colors not as vivid as they used to be. Adywan has done a beautiful job of restoring these, and a whole lot more. Many of the things he is doing are making the films look almost exactly the way I wished they had looked when the SE DVDs were released, and he's adding a few of his own touches along the way, which overall, look fantastic.

There are many other fan edits that have worked toward creating a restored version of the original releases, among other things. This is turning out to be the best -- in my opinion -- of the edits that are dealing with the newer editions of the films. I see it becoming the definitive version of the film for me, as it holds true the closest to the way I want to watch the film. I know that my tastes may differ from those of other board members, but from the amount of attention and support this project has been getting, I know that I am also not alone.

Because of this, I am wholeheartedly supporting Adywan in his efforts, and am very excited about this project. If others are not as enthusiastic about the work that is being done here, they always have the choice to not follow the project. That does not mean, however, that there are not the rest of us who are eagerly awaiting its release. All the best, Adywan, with the fantastic work you are doing.

Take care,
