Parent topic: It seems like nobody involved in the making of the Original Trilogy has spoken up about George Lucas’ oppression of the unaltered theatrical version of the OT.

Why would they care? They still get the money, and would have no power to influence change. For all we know, and with out luck, they may be satisfied.
