T-HOPE ULTIMATE TERMINATOR PROJECT

These DVD’s will just be an addition of Terminator footage to the already existing discs, plus more!!!

TERMINATOR 2 3D - BATTLE ACROSS TIME (“Project 640”) – T-HOPE ULTIMATE EDITION

1. Preservation of the Terminator 2 3D footage.
2. Many fans cannot see this Terminator footage, because they don’t live in America or Japan.

I am going to try to create an Ultimate Edition DVD, with many T2-3D related things. Kinda like the Terminator 2 Ultimate Edition, only fanmade and lesser quality video.

Format will be NTSC, fullscreen 4:3.

Planned content:

  • T2-3D Workprint January 17 1996 (15 mins.)
  • T2-3D audience recording #1 (22 mins.)
  • T2-3D audience recording #2 (19 mins.)
  • The Making of T2-3D: Breaking The Screen Barrier (23 mins.)
  • Universal Studios: Terminator 2 3D (8 mins.):
  • Opening of the attraction
  • Behind-the-scenes
  • 8 TV Spots; quality varies from real bad (=count the pixels) to watchable (VHS tape rip).
  • T2-3D E! Online/Universal Studios Florida Promo (0:32)
  • Promo 01 (0:13)
  • T2-3D Internet spot (0:18)
  • T2-3D Spot 01 (0:15)
  • T2-3D Spot 02 (0:17)
  • Rental VHS trailer “The future is coming” Universal Studios Florida (0:30)
  • “Not for the faint of heart” Internet spot (0:40)
  • Universal Studios Hollywood Promo (0:31)
  • Terminator 2 3D ‘press kit’ - Clips from Attraction / Audience reaction (1:44)
  • Posters (15 pics).
  • Artwork;
  • Show (8 pics)
  • Mini-Hunter (9 pics)
  • SKYNET Interior (4 pics)
  • SKYNET Interior (9 pics)
  • T-1.000.000 (14 pics)
  • 3 Cyberdyne Systems promotion videos
  • my fan-made Tv spot, which will play before the main menu appears (0:30).

And perhaps:

  • Easter egg??

THE TERMINATOR – T-HOPE ULTIMATE EDITION BONUS DISC

This will be an extra bonus disc to the already existing T1 DVD releases, which still misses some T1 related videos.

Format will be NTSC, fullscreen 4:3.

Planned content:

  • The Making of The Terminator; original 1984 making of T1 featurette, never released on DVD (app. 22 mins.)
  • The Terminator - E! True Hollywood Story; 2002 featurette about the Terminator (app. 60 mins.)
  • The Terminator - Special Edition DVD Trailer; Special Edition promotional trailer that was released on the website when the special edition DVD was released.
  • Alternate scene “Terminator’s sneakers”. The original scene showed the Terminator wearing white sneakers instead of boots. On DVD releases this image has been cropped to remove the Terminator’s sneakers out of the screen.

And perhaps:

  • Bits & Bytes; various small clips that were hidden easter eggs on the region 1 Special Edition DVD release, but are missing on the other region releases.
  • Chrono-surfing - “A Brief History Of Time Travel”; essay by Randall Frakes. This was a hidden easter egg on the region 1 Special Edition DVD release, but it was missing on other region releases.
  • TV alterations; footage of TV alterations. The TV cut has edited language, and even 1 alternate shot. If someone can send me this TV edit, I might edit those scenes into this DVD preservation.

Note:
I’m not sure if both the documentaries can be included on a 4,5gb DVD-r. I don’t have a dual-layer DVD burner, so I’m stuck to go for a 4,5gb release.

TERMINATOR 2: JUDGMENT DAY – T-HOPE ULTIMATE EDITION BONUS DISC

The T2 Ultimate Edition was still nothing ultimate in my opinion. The most notable omission was the Guns N’ Roses video “You Could Be Mine.” Also with the release of the Extreme Edition, many fans don’t want to buy two DVD releases and still miss Terminator 2 related stuff. Also people don’t feel like buying the Extreme Edition if they already have the Ultimate Edition, and the Extreme Edition has not even been released in every continent. So footage from the Extreme Edition, plus other T2 related footage will be put together, something similar like “Pirates of the Caribbean - The lost disc”.

Format will be NTSC, ratio aspect is yet unknown and may even vary by each source.

Planned content:

  • Guns N’ Roses - You Could Be Mine videoclip; source is tv rip and if I remember correctly, it might even feature an MTV logo.
  • I have a very small video segment of a Guns N’ Roses/Arnold Schwarzenegger interview about the collaboration between them about the video. it’s an old VHS rip and the size is 320 by 240. It will have large pixels when I transfer these to DVD format, so does anyone have a decent rip?
  • “No Feat But What We Make” (24 mins.); An all-new documentary on the role of “T2” in the evolution of Digital Effects and Modern Filmmaking, featuring new Interviews with prominent Filmmakers and Visual Effects Artists. From the T2 Extreme Edition.
  • “T2: On The Set” (8 mins.); Exclusive new Retrospective Montage of life on the set of the greatest action movie ever made, featuring Rare Production Footage. From the T2 Extreme Edition.
  • Japanese T2 teasers and trailers; the region 1 Ultimate Edition version has these, but they were missing on other region releases.
  • German T2 teaser; I decided to include this German teaser, because the ending is slightly different (=alternate).
  • Terminator 2 Ultimate Edition DVD Trailer #1 (2:00)
  • Terminator 2 Ultimate Edition DVD Trailer #2 (2:26)
  • Terminator 2 Ultimate Edition DVD Trailer #3 (1:04)
  • Terminator 2 Extreme Edition DVD Trailer (1:59)
  • T2 Game trailer #1
  • T2 Game trailer #2
  • T2 Williams Pinball promotional video (15:34)
  • MTV Movie Awards - Terminator 2

And perhaps:

  • Storyboards/artwork; not all storyboards and artwork was released on the official Ultimate Edition releases.

Note:
I have the T2 Special Edition laserdisc, but I don’t have a laserdisc player. Does anyone know what the content of the T2 Special Edition laserdisc is regarding to the Guns N’ Roses chapter on it. Does it only feature the music video, or also information pages? Can anyone rip stuff from Laserdisc to digital DVD video?

TERMINATOR SAVED MY LIFE (SCI-FI SAVED MY LIFE)

TERMINATOR 3: RISE OF THE MACHINES – T-HOPE ULTIMATE EDITION BONUS DISC
Not sure if I will do this, but it could be another bonus disc…

Keep in mind that most of the videos have to be converted and there will be a quality loss. The TV spots will be in bad quality, but hey… better something than absolutely nothing.

T-Hope, the T2 LD does feature info pages on the Guns 'n Roses music video. This is years-old memory, but I'd estimate somewhere from 5 to 10 pages worth. My LD player (and the LDs themselves) are in storage right now, so I can't grab the info for you, sorry.

Also, the Terminator SE trailer you mentioned "from the website" can also be found on (at the very least) the "Ghost World" DVD. (At least, I think it's the same trailer. I'd have to check to be sure.)

The only other thing I would mention is that there seems to be a lot of stuff listed that is still readily available on commercial releases...(ie: T2-3D: Breaking the Screen Barrier, No Feat But What We make, and T2 On the Set) ...just wondering about the decision to include "non-grey area" materials.

If you have that DVD trailer in good quality, can you please rip it and send it to me, so I can include a better quality version than a version converted from Quicktime?

I have decided to include the making of T2-3D to have a more complete T2-3D disc, as like an Ultimate Edition. All the stuff that is available will be included, that was my thought of the Ultimate project idea.

I have given the reason already for the Extreme Edtiion but will do it again. This Extreme Edition has only been released in America/Canada and Japan. I am European guy, and if I should only do it with the official releases then theoretically I should never be able to see those releases, because they are:
a) not released here in Europe.
b) region 1 encoded, while we have region 2.
So, theoretically, I cannot see it. However I have the disc and am able to watch because I have a region free dvd player. But many other Terminator do not have this possibility, so they are missing some stuff simple because it's never released here.
c) I thought "an Ultimate Edition" should have all the stuff. What's the point of "an ultimate edition" if you're gonna release "an extreme edition"? And then perhaps "an supremacy edition"? Then the term "ultimate" loses its value, so in order to make it "Ultimate"... well, I think you understand my point now.
So that's why I am seriously thinking to include it.

Yes I can. Here's a rough description first, just to make sure it's what you're after:

MPAA Red band, then MGM lion, then "I'll be back."
'Trailer Voice Man' speaks along with onscreen text, "The Terminator...is...back." "...state of tha rt 5.1 surround sound..." "...(featuring) newly discovered deleted scenes..." et cetera, runs for 63 seconds.

Yep, that's the one. It uses a lot of blue colors. I have two version of it, a short version and a longer version. Could you please upload your version for me at rapidshare.com?

I just updated some of the T2-3D features.

I quite like your idea for the T2-3D bonus disc, Maurice. Having been on the "ride" myself, I certainly enjoyed it, and would like to see all the little extras associated with it.

Also, for your "Terminator Rarities" disc, if you're including parodies, don't forget the SNL sketch, "Tooncinator", which had Edward Furlong and Sarah Hamilton doing cameos as their characters.

Got it, thanks for uploading it. I will include it on the future release. First let me finish T2-3D. ;-)

I already have that one, but I didn't have the time to make the complete list of planned content. I will post a more detailed list asap. Please keep in mind that the quality will vary from video to video. Sources are vhs rips, or internet posts. Sometimes I will have to convert something from a 320 by 240 file to a fullscreen DVD file... you will know that with this, you will be able to count the pixels...

But hey, better something than nothing. It's all rare videostuff from my private collection that I have gathered from 1996 'till now.

As a funny idea, I'm playing with the idea of making this complete set as 1 serie release... something with the title "Cyberdyne vault" or "Cyberyne backup files".

Now I have got to find out how to convert some swf files to video. I have download 5 different converters but they all can't handle the 3 swf files I would to convert to video.

How about including a DVD-ROM folder of the actual avi/swf files etc as well ? It would be nice to see the videos without any scaling. I'd like to be able to see the video clearly, even if only at 320x240.

where have i been all this time ?

I have that one, but when I try to convert it to a movie, it converts it a flv file :-S
I can't find any options there to choose another format like MPG or AVI. I must be missing something...

No, that's not my plan. Just a DVD, even if you can count the pixels with some videos. Better something than nothing is my motto for that.

Btw, I added a possible T3 DVD project and some new T2 and T-Rarities features.

Have you tried Magic SWF 2 AVI converter? I used it a while back in an attempt to convert some Star Wars fan films to avi, which I was then going to convert to DVD. Never got it finished though. I can't remember exactly, but I think in some cases I could only convert the video with that. I then had to use an audio recorder to capture the audio and resync everything later. It actually wasn't that hard, just a little annoying.

I just came back from wintersport and tried your advice. Yes, this program works. Thanks a lot!!! Do you know a good flv converter?

I have gathered all the clips I want to use and converted them. Before I will start creating the T2-3D DVD I have one more question.
Is there someone who has the queue line promotional video? I mean the video that promotes Cyberdyne when you're queued to wait for the attraction? Is there someone who has it or can videotape it in decent quality?

okay, here is an additional info:

EXPLORING MENU ENVIRONMENTS (9:54)
CONTENT PRODUCTION - VAN LING (14:45)

This is taken from obscure but official DVD that explains the production of DVDs (interactive menus in particular).
First one has T2 ultimate edition menu structure with narration about the process.
Second one is an interview with van Link, author of James Cameron DVDs.
None of it is much interesting really,

TERMINATOR 3: RISE OF THE MACHINES

HOLLYWOOD STARS: PREVIEW (6:02)
MOVIE TELEVISION: PREVIEW (2:34)
TEASER TRAILER (0:50)
FEATURETTE: PROLOGUE (2:10)

First 2 are from 2 different film shows, I believe they have some exclusive interviews. Last two are from EPK I think.

TV SPECIAL: MTV - MAKING THE MOVIE (20:11)
MTV: PREVIEW (2:47)

I believe this is much better then a regular VHS tape rip.
Many of the interview segments are usually repetetive, taken from generic PRESS interviews, but some newsreports feature exclusives.

B-ROLL (EPK) (22:06)

This is unedited behind the scenes footage that the whole world used for newsreports. Frankly this is the material I always treasure the most.
I have everything on one DVD which I'll send over to you ... check out you email

If possible, could I have them all, watch them and then select what I will use ultimately?
If it's the B-Roll that I have in my head (also know as the BBCi footage), then that would be awesome. Where did you get that footage?

Same Make. Same Model. New Mission.

I think I have it on dvd, the source is a Beta SP PAL Tape. It runs 1m40s.

No, but that's not the queue line video. It is indeed a promotional Cyberdyne movie, but I already have 2 CAM recordings of this one. If you have it a decent DVD quality, then please give it to me, but honestly, I don't think it's on DVD. This is just the video for the audience to introduce Kimberley and Cyberdyne, and they are suddenly interrupted by a pirate broadcast of Sarah and John Connor.

I was regarding to the video where you stand in the queue line, waiting to even enter the attraction. It does feature Terminator character Dr. Silberman plus some Cyberdyne PR folks that promote Cyberdyne. It does not feature any pirate broadcast of John/Sarah at all as far as I know (I have never seen it but I have heard some things about it):
