Not that that is going to stop you from dreaming… Only in this case, Gaffer is actually a guy.

I guess Love You To is, but I really enjoy Norwegian Wood as well. It gets an honorable mention.

Strawberry Fields Forever
“Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country.” — Nazi Reich Marshal Hermann Goering

I'm Only Sleeping

As for sitar song, Norwegian Wood, but that's probably because it's the first thing I learned to play on guitar.

By the way, does anyone have the Dr. Ebbetts releases of the albums? I have the Blue Box stereo mixes and the mono mixes and I highly prefer the mono mixes, especially of Revolver, Sgt. Pepper's and the White Album. Highly recommended - they're transfered with great care from high-quality copies of the original vinyl, and sound infinitely better than the official CDs. Most of them have been posted in FLAC format on Demonoid.

Speaking of Ebbetts, can someone perhaps point me to where I can find the UK Singles Collection Vol. 2? I'm trying to make my own personalized version of Past Masters, and I'm using all of Dr. Ebbetts' original transfers - UK Singles, UK EP Collection, Beatles VI, and Rarities, plus the official CDs for Free as a Bird and Real Love. The only one I still need is Ebbetts' UK Singles Collection Vol. 2, and I can't find it anywhere - no matter how many Ebbetts torrents people post on Demonoid, UK Singles is never part of them.

Nah, they can't be the same person. If they were, the original post on this thread would be something along the lines of "Should I make the Beatles my favorite band of all time?"

Any ever listen to Free As Bird? It was the last Beatles song made.

The Beatles have helped me out of some really tough times. They are what I kind of look to as most people look to god or religion. I look to their music for inspiration. It really helps.

Incorrect on the Free as a Bird in more ways than one.

When making the Anthology miniseries, Yoko provided some home tapes of John playing piano and singing some unreleased songs he was working on. One of them was Free as a Bird, which was mostly incomplete. After massive tweaking and cleaning of the tapes, Paul wrote a new verse or two to fill in the gaps, and Paul, George, and Ringo "finished" the song basically by putting music to John's vocals. This resulted in the song released in 1995 as "Free as a Bird," which is credited to all four Beatles.

There were two other songs the band was considering using, but one was considered unusable due to the condition of the tape, and the other was an early version of "Real Love," which Lennon had finished at one point and recorded but not officially released until long after his death. This version contained almost completely different lyrics. Unlike Free as a Bird, Real Love was complete lyrically, so all the lyrics are John's. Once again, after extensive cleanup, the remaining three "finished" it, and the result was "Real Love," released in 1996. Both songs are also included on the Anthology CDs, "Bird" the first track on Anthology 1 and "Love" the first track on Anthology 2.

So technically, they are John Lennon solo songs that the surviving members of the Beatles finished almost twenty years later, and 15 years after his death. Also, if you do consider them part of the Beatles' discography, Real Love was the last song the Beatles released, not Free as a Bird.

But in terms of the original Beatles chronology, I Me Mine was the last song they recorded, although John had already left the group by that point. The last stuff with all four was Mean Mr. Mustard, I believe.

I'm listening to the Sitar version of Across The Universe and it is pretty awesome. The Anthology stuff is really great.

Song: "While My Guitar Gently Weeps"

I just got into The Beatles about a month ago, and I already have EVERY SINGLE SONG of theirs on my computer from Rubber Soul to Abbey Road (with the exception of "Wild Honey Pie" and "Revolution 9"... but one could debate whether or not they ARE even songs). Their body of work is so great and varied. They were ahead of their time in every way. And their music was revolutionary, profound, and enduring. I'm still collecting their albums; the only compilation I have is 1, and next I'm probably gonna go out and get Let It Be... the only thing hindering me is what the great distinction is between the 1970 version and Let It Be Naked.
Don't forget: with Lacuna, you can forget.

Anyone like Hey Bulldog? I think it is very under appreciated. It was cut out from non-European versions of yellow submarine.
