hmmmm...you have obviously tried to release this, wmgan, however, none of the links has worked yet. Is there a way I can help you getting this up? Please pm me and let's work something out. The world needs some fresh Buffy.

Sorry about that... I uploaded the torrent prematurely, and then wasn't able to seed it due to my flying across the globe... so sorry! And I'm afraid I'm going to have to reupload the torrent files, for various reasons. The old torrents aren't going to work.

Check the 'noid and the 'bay for updated torrents shortly.

By the way, I've got to say this: I did this while I was visiting my family in Malaysia, and I didn't have my R1 Buffy DVDs with me, as they're in my dorm room in New York... so I had to make do with a *ahem* shady copy that was packaged very similarly to the official R1, and I assumed that the DVD content was the same, but having just checked the actual R1 DVDs, I realized that they are encoded with 3:2 pulldown (while the source I used was interlaced NTSC), and the audio is 2.0 (but somehow the source I used had 6 discrete channels -- and it doesn't seem like it's merely a simple upmix, so I'm not sure how the 5.1 soundtrack came about)...

But anyway, I'll definitely use the official R1 DVDs for the other six movies, unless some kind soul wants to give/lend me the widescreen R2 DVDs...

Boon23, would you be interested and willing to help me seed this? If you are, I can send you a copy of the DVD.

If anyone else is interested in helping, please let me know.

It looks like I'm really gonna need at least someone to help me seed this... it's not getting past my college firewall AT ALL. Would someone PLEASE volunteer... you'll get a free copy of the edit on a double-layer DVD+R (and we all know that double-layer blanks ain't cheap).

BTW, I'm now working on Season 3.

I was very excited when I started the movie and the beginning was good, I like the title you created, there are no bad cuts or audio errors I spotted (which is great, because so many faneditors don't care for these flaws that spoil the watching fun by screaming at you "I AM A FANEDIT!").
Still I have to say that I would not call this one movie but a medley of all episodes. the plot felt jumpy to me and so many scenes felt rushed while others felt like they were not needed. It gave me the feeling of watching parts of Buffy shows, but not a real Buffy movie. Still I really enjoy the idea and I think your project is among the coolest I have seen so far. Especially for a Buffy fan like me. let's see what you make out of season II... when Spike arrives in Sunnydale. Keep us updated, please.
25 people are already downloading the torrent, which is cool.

I am glad you like it. This isn't much, it is just until we have something better. There are currently 4 seders on this via bittorrent, 30 people still downloading. get it now, while you can, guys (and ladies, I know you are here).

Boon, I heard from Dave (the other guy who's helping me to seed my original torrent) that you reauthored the DVD before seeding it. Was there something wrong with the copy I gave you? I hope you didn't make any changes to the DVD content or structure.

It wouldn't work properly every time I tried to copy it from the DVD to my harddrive, so I had to extract the video and audio and re-inserted it into the existing DVD menu. The layer break is now at a different position, but the chapters are exactly where they were before. No changes were made to audio and video, so this is the same movie, but it displays properly. If I had not done that, I would not have been able to upload it.
So Dave has a version different to mine for seeding, but the same for the movie.

Wow, those are some sweet covers you made! I hope I won't let you down in the end, though I really don't know when I'll finish the rest of the movies! Life at college is busy, and on top of that I'm devoting most of my creative energies at the moment to writing a musical...

I have recently suffered a major computer crash-Thank goodness for work computers. Can someone help me out with a copy of this one. WMGAN's other works are great and I would really enjoy this one.
Thanks in advance.

Wouldn't season 6 be in widescreen though?

The US release of all Buffy seasons are in fullscreen, in accordance to Joss' wishes. Those were the only versions I had and were familiar with, until curiosity finally got the better of me a couple weeks ago and I ordered the Region 2 version of seasons 4 and 5 during an online sale (which at a discounted price still cost me as much as new R1 sets would have).

Why did Joss want them released in fullscreen? The season 4 episode in which Oz comes back reveals the answer -- near the end, when Oz and Willow embrace in the van, there is an obvious shot continuity "mistake", where one of the characters -- out of frame in the fullscreen version but not in the widescreen one -- leans in to hug the other, and then the camera angle changes to a wider shot and they haven't moved yet. The series was edited with a fullscreen ratio in mind, which is why mistakes like this could occur with things that aren't supposed to be seen on screen.
