And to add to this, I will provide some more lightsaber facts. Lightsabers are not hot until something makes contact with the blade. It has to do with the atoms in the plasma that makes the blade. When something touches the blade it causes the atoms to react violently creating a heat which can cut through almost anything. I read this recently and thought I would share.
