Mahoromatic Limitless Volume 1 of 3

One of Gainax’s often overlooked shows is Mahoromatic. Personally, I found the show to be amazing, EXCEPT the ending was completely terrible. I couldn’t think of a worse way to end a series. Well, I’ve decided to create a rebuild of Mahoromatic in the form of films. The episodes have been spliced together into films to give a slightly different version of Mahoromatic. One that won’t leave you disappointed at the end. Here are just a few the things to expect:

  1. All references to Mahoro’s life span removed.
  2. All references to Management removed.
  3. Ryuga will remain Mahoro’s final enemy.

—Mahoromatic Automatic Maiden: Limitless Volume 1—

In the hidden war against the alien invaders of Saint, mankind has been saved countless times by an android named Mahoro. Out of gratitude for her deeds, the earth-defense force Vesper offers Mahoro the chance to fulfill any dream she desires. All she’s ever wanted was to live a normal life. So what’s an android to do?

Enter Suguru, a young orphan with an extremely messy house, who hires Mahoro on as a maid. Poor Suguru has no idea about Mahoros past life, or her deep connection to him. But hes not one to complain as Mahoro moves in, causing suspicion from his friends, and jealousy from his home-room teacher. Now Suguru just has to deal with the fact that his beautiful 19-year old maid is really a combat android!

The film is presented in English and Japanese 2.0 with full subtitles as well as text only subtitles.

This torrent includes a DVD compatible file that is ready to burn, and includes high quality case, insert, and dvd artwork.

I hope you enjoy it!

Just an update with a preview of the dvd cover art. There are actually two versions in the torrent, one with the white background and one with a blue background. Also, the images on the back have been tweaked, but essentially this is it.

A slightly tweaked version has been uploaded. Apparently, a couple of stray frames made their way into the final edit, which was not supposed to happen. Those have since been corrected. If you already have this, and the extra frames don't bother you, then there's no need to download this. If they did bother you, or you haven't picked this up yet, now is the time. I'll probably only seed it a couple more weeks.

Hmmm... I thought I already posted this.

The concept is interesting. I've been watching Mahoromatic lately. I'm not sure about removing the time limit concept. It's been one of the key things that's seperated this show from your run of the mill maid series. I like the idea a lot, as it expresses that her time is limited, and leaves you wondering how far they'll take it. Remove it, and you have a maid show with some combat thrown in. I have only seen four episodes, but the concept sounds like it removes some of the depth of the show.

I ake check this out after I've seen more of the series.

Understandably, since you've only seen a few episodes, you can't really understand the intent to change this aspect of the show. Right now you are in the middle of the first season, which in my books scores a perfect 10 out of 10. I might even go so far as to say that the first season of Mahoromatic was a masterpiece.

However...

(please excuse my foul language)

When you watch the second season, more specifically the final two episodes, you will understand why this edit was created. The "depth" that you speak of is thrown to the wind. The device of her time limit is not used at the end, mostly because (I believe) the writers had written themselves into a corner and could not figure out what to do. And the final episode is pretty gut wrenching, as well as INCREDIBLY lazily written. I like to say it was a big "Fuck You" from Gainax to the fans. They switched genres completely. You have no idea what happened to all but three of the characters. Nothing at all is explained. And those who showed development throughout the series revert back to they way they used to be in the beginning. Since you haven't seen it all, I won't spoil it by divulging the details of WHY I think it is pure shit, but believe me it is a HORRIBLE ending. Not just because it's sad (and certainly the saddest ending in anime history), but just because it was so terribly/lazily written that it is a piece of shit.

The ending was begging to be changed. Some fans were pretty devastated by the ending. At the very least, this will be a way to rewatch Mahoromatic without having to re-experience that godawful ending. It's to give it the proper ending it deserves.

What I'd really like is for someone to watch these movies that I'm making without ever having seen the series and comment on it.

I haven't seen this series and would be willing to watch the movies and comment with a fresh view.

Btw, what's the status on your other projects, particularly the NGE Instrumental Extras?

Klokwerk, please check your PM's regarding this edit.

Also, as far as the NGE Instrumental Extras, I found a new translator, hopefully this one won't stiff me like the last one did. They are currently working on some other project, but estimate that they can start mine sometime in mid-March. That said, I would expect an April/May release for the Instrumental Extras. Here's hoping...

Well, so far we've had 35 successful downloads of the project. To be honest that is much more than I was expecting. I was under the impression that were probably two people in the world interested in something like this.

Anyway, I was wondering if anyone from this forum was one of the downloaders. If so, would you mind sharing you input for the movie? I just want to get the general impression of the viewers and strive to make the next one even better.

Thanks!

Given all I've seen, I somehow doubt that. Especially if it was badly written. Ever seen Grave of the Fireflies, X the Movie (which was also badly written but about as depressing an ending as anything) or Gundam 0080 (even the original Zeta Gundam ending for most people)? They'd have to practically blow up the world to top those.

I think I get the picture though. I'll have to finish the series first.

what happened to part II? i also need a copy of part one since it is no longer available on torrents.

Gotta love greedy Gainax. they just released another Eva set with footage from the new movie coming out in september. for just under 300.00 american dollars you can buy it from japan, LOL

sorry Gainax as much as i want the new eva set i will be spending my cash on the 30th anniversary space battleship yamato movie boxset, LOL.

as for Mahoro i prefer the manga because at least it has a happy ending.

It's on hold for the moment. I'm still waiting for a replacement for disc 2 of season 2 that someone is mailing me. I guess they are using ultra ridiculously slow mail as the carrier, because it's taking forever to get here. Whenever it shows up I can start work on it. And whenever I finish it I'll also repost the torrent for disc 1.

I hate to necro old old old threads like this but does anyone still have this first volume of this or know where it's available? I'd love to see it. The box art is perfect, it supposedly has a better ending (Don't really care for the manga ending and the anime's... well, I don't even want to talk about that), and finally, I'm just curious as to how he keeps Ryuga the 'bad guy'.

Again sorry, but this is something I just have to see ever since I found out about it.
