I have seen a lot of the latest entries and I must say I'm a bit disappointed. I used to participate on forums a lot, but it has always amazed me how people misinterpret someone’s intentions and how even the smallest positive things can turn into something negative. As I have explained myself why I started this tread, I feel the need to explain myself further. I'm sure that there will be things that I say now that pisses people off again but that will be on yourself.

To know or not to know

I have seen a lot of things that will never be released to the public in the knowledge that I would probably never see it again. It has killed me to know these things but I cherish these memories. I have written down everything that I have seen to remember it (example: Gary Kutrz's personal photo collection), and in some cases have obtained these things at a later date. I myself would rather know than not know about these things because it (in part) drives my star wars obsession to collect. As long as there are things to obtain out there (vintage original trilogy stuff in my case), there is a drive to my obsession.
That there are people who would rather not know is understandable, but I have acted out of my own feelings.

Why ask for information, he has the damn thing

I have never come across information about this documentary on the internet or otherwise. I know it comes from the private collection of Gary Kurtz (and has probably lain on his shelf for 27 years). Because I am making a website about rare items (video, images and such), I would like to provide more information about this documentary (what's the point in just showing pictures if you can't tell about it in depth). Why was it made and never made public (or perhaps aired just the one time). I have always been amazed by what information people can unearth. A good source for me has been the Yahoo group Star Wars Aficionado (have seen you there too Jambe Davdar ).
Because of that in depth information out there I thought that there might be people who might not have the documentary, but might know something about it.
I am certainly glad that I posted this tread because I get bit and pieces here and there and know more than I did before.
It seems this is a French production because a search for "sygma television" brings up al kinds of French links to a French television station. This seems to correspond with the notion that Michel Pardot worked for French Television in the eighties.

The Dangling carrot

It has not been my intention to dangle a carrot in front of you. Nor be selfish and say LOOK AT ME.
I understand that people would like to see this thing. I can compare this to the beginning of the internet when I would look at sites like "Star Wars: as seen on TV". It had full descriptions and screenshots of shows I had never seen living in the Netherlands. I would get this craving for these shows some of which to this day I have not seen.
This guy had all these shows on video and wasn't going to share with others unless you had something in return. He even had a special wish list on the site for it ( http://www.lucasfan.com/swtv/ ). Was he holding a carrot too???
And what about Warwick Davis and his "Return of the Ewok". He has been showing this on conventions, but apart from the snippets from the official site and the cam version, there hasn't been a full release (legal, or otherwise???)

Why show screenshots

I was going to do that anyway on the website. My intention for the website is to show everyone about this show to share to knowledge and in the hopes to get an official release in the future. I also knew that a lot of people would start responding by saying I was talking about SPFX: empire. I order to illustrate what I was talking about I felt I needed to show you through some screenshots in order to avoid unnecessary responses.

Don't kill the messenger

Enthusiasm I can understand, some of the entries that I have read here I cannot. It will not help me in my conviction to share if people get angry or give demanding messages. I have been very clear about this and I'm not happy with some of the responses people have given me. I'm almost regretful that I posted this in the first place if it wasn't for some very positive and understanding posts:

Sorry but the whole "permission" thing is BS. Clearly he doesn't care about it or else he wouldn't be posting pictures, clips and creating a website about it.

I just think it's kinda crappy to post pics, clips and whatknot on a website all the while claiming that you're not supposed to have a copy.

Hell, there are things I have that I promised not to ever distribute and I don't. I don't brag about having them on the net either. It's just bad form.

The whole point about drug addicts and alleyways (deleted stuff)

The Promise

I don't know about the rest of you but I have never broken a promise. The promise was given in the knowledge that this program was something special (and had never been made public) and for legal reasons could not be distributed. I got it several years ago from someone who got a direct copy from Gary Kurtz. Now I have also met Gary Kurtz a couple of times a find him to be a soft-spoken, giving person. The person I got the copy from is not someone who is in my life on a regular basis (He himself shows and tells other people about it so I’m not breaking any promises there). That said I have two options:
I can get in touch with this person and ask permission for a fan copy or I can get in touch with Gary Kurtz and tell him about the fan preservations and ask him for permission since he is the direct owner of this thing. I will do my best to get permission since I feel that if you guyz find another tape from back in the eighties it will not be of the same quality as this copy.
When and if I get permission to make a fan copy it is my intention to do it myself through the upcoming website, so you'll have to bear with me. My first concern however is the release of the website. There is one credo that I remember when collecting and has worked for me so far: All good things come to those who wait….(no pun intended)

For the Future

I will continue setting up the website with or without extra information. There are some people here that have a very reasonable responses (Laserman, Jambe Davdar ), and I would like to continue communicating with these people. Perhaps through hotmail or something…

The website will get launched in a few weeks and you can expect more screenshots and more clips and in the future a full transcript (when I get to it) from the program.

If permission is given I will make a fan-preservation DVD of the program.

I'm sure I've said something wrong somewhere in here, if so it's not intended to upset anyone. If someone doesn't agree with this or is angry about this than that's too bad………...

Greetz,

Darth Neo

O, one more thing:

Is this the one that has the outtake of Obi Wan's ghost trying to wake up an 'unconscious' Luke in the snow?

No, there’s no such scene here, sorry……………..
