MAC Question

I'm considering...CONSIDERING getting an iMac for my kids, though I'm doing some fairly extensive research on them first.

Question:

Does anyone know what type of DRM is being included on the MACs? I heard about what Jobs said last week so I'm wondering how intrusive it is on their systems. Will the thing melt if I try to burn a copyrighted dvd for personal non-commercial backup use?

I just recently got an iMac for the home. Man, that thing is sweet!!! I ended up getting a used 17" model from when they just came out with this new "body" style. Mine had a combo drive so I purchased an external DVD burner which turned out to be the way to go IMHO. I did not like the slot load too well, and disks seemed to get really hot in there.

I hope that helps a little.

Galatians 2: 20: I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

OKAY, I'VE BEEN A MAC USER FOR SEVEN YEARS NOW. BACK WHEN OS X FIRST CAME OUT USE COULD SIMPLY DUPLICATE THE DVDs ONTO THE DESKTOP THOUGH YOU STILL HAD TO RUN IT THROUGH DECRYPTION PROGRAMS BEFORE BURNING A DVD. THE ONLY THING THAT HAS CHANGED IS THAT YOU NOW HAVE TO USE A DVD RIPPING PROGRAM WHICH ACTUALLY CUTS DOWN ON A FEW STEPS. FOR FULL INFORMATION YOU CAN EMAIL ME AT THE ADDRESS IN MY PROFILE NOT THE ONE IN MY SIGNATURE.

Rip copy-protected dvd to HD with the free MacTheRipper (thereby removing copy protection). Burn to blank dvd with built-in OS X burning, Toast, or the excellent freeware LiquidCD... The DRM is on the media content, not the Mac.

You can go about your business. Move along, move along.

Does anyone know of a good Mac emulator for PC? Does such an animal exist?

Was at a computer show this weekend. Guy had G4's for $150 with the OS. I thought about it then figured I want to get the latest and greatest if I do get one.
