As the person who initially started this thread almost a year ago, I am thrilled to see this coming to fruition. I thank all of you for your hard work and diligence and look foward to seeing the end results. I just wish I could track down those radio spots and more rare stuff to make this special edition really special.

Hey DJ,

Cactus is right, the credits are on the HD Rip, but I think there may be an issue with them, as VirtuaDub has crashed out twice, right near the end of a file save, and I'm betting it's down to the credits. Obviously an MPEG-2 file is more resiliant to files just ending than AVIs are.

Funnily enough I haven't had any problems with the beginning of the file, but the end after 90 minutes of file created (460GB!!!) is very very annoying.

I never said my HD file did NOT have the credits, its just when I loaded my script into CCE,somehow the end is gone,NO text credits, but anyways I am watching the NTSC version now and it looks friggin sweet, and I am watching it on a 62' HiDef TV,using a OPPO upconvert DVD player, and I must say it looks better than some retail DVD's I have bought LOL
if credits bother you, than DONT download this when it is upped, like I said it doesnt bother me and I am NOT going to do another 80+ hours of encoding for a PAL & NTSC version, plus I have NO idea why it missed them anyways, like I said the video and sound still plays, just no text LOL,wierd

Easy Fella!

I wasn't having a go, just pointing out I think the source material may go a bit iffy near the end, hence CCE no encoding them.

C'mon now, the end is in sight - deep breaths

yes this whole project has been a pain in the ass from the beginning,if it was a normal mpeg2 .ts file I would have had NO problems at all,but I probably will NEVER do a h264 file again, unless it is something VERY,VERY rare LOL

I think the big problem is that the tools are so new for H264, everything is still a bit flakey.

Someone will bring out a better tool to convert these things, and the sooner the better!!

"and the sooner the better!!"

that would be very cool when it happens, because I do see some files that I would like to grab, but I dont because of the h264,the ONLY reason I got Howard The Duck,is because they didnt say in the title that it was h264,but hey,I am glad I have it now,and this is my first time watching it,and I must say,I kind of like it,but it starts to get goofy when the Dark Overlord story is brought in,the movie is really cool up to that point.

I live in NTSC land, so NTSC for me.

I used to be very active on this forum. I’m not really anymore. Sometimes, people still want to get in touch with me about something, and that is great! If that describes you, please email me at [my username]ATgmailDOTcom.

Hi everybody. You’re all awesome. Keep up the good work.

Iam live in a PAL land so PAL to me

The Force is like Duct Tape, it has a light side, a dark side, and holds the universe together.

I got the HD version, so.. none.

I'll take either NTSC just out of convenience. My dvd player plays both PAL and NTSC but most of my friend's players only play NTSC; so I would have to convert it just so they could watch. I have the hd files anyways for me to watch.

That's the link for an old issue of Bantha Tracks dedicated to Howard. Might make an excellent supplemental feature for this disc.

PAL for me

in the recent Boffo documentary aired on HBO and just released on R1 dvd (I saw this one yesterday), Willard Huyck and Gloria Katz talk about the failure of the movie.
Dark_Jedi, you want the clip, don't hesitate to ask...

That site has the VH1 I Love the 80s feature on the film, as well as plenty of other stuff, for downloads.

Do we know what extras are going to be on this as of yet? The aforementioned site has a ton of stuff that could be used for supplemental materials. I really think we should load this thing up as much as possible.

And check out this Howard-related beer ad to promote the film (!) - http://www.geocities.com/cecinid/howardbeer.jpg

Whoah. What an overwhelming list.

Methinks a supplemental disc of extras are going to be needed in addition to the HD2DVD.
