Sean, you are kind of going about this the wrong way, watching stupid films like Jesus camp. If you really want to understand conservative then try a non biased source. Even when you say not so much Christians but "Evangelicals", do you even understand what evangelicals are and what a broad range of groups that categorizes? You mentioned that your family was formerly Jehovah's witnesses, JWs are some of the creepiest people I have ever met. If you take JW to equal typical Christian you are going to have a skewed view of all Christians. You mentioned some woman saying Harry Potter was a warlock, probably she was very anti HP. Well I know a good deal of evangelical Christians who are big fans of Harry Potter, those people who are so quick to condemn HP know very little about the books. I find it funny that nobody condemned Sabrina the Teenage Witch, but Harry Potter gets all sorts of flak while both display witchcraft in a harmless way. I think the world has a very warped view of Christians these days because you have so many dolts running around condemning things like Harry Potter in the name of Christ. Poor bastard who is doing this has probably never even picket up a Bible (or he is hell bent on never touching anything other than the KJV) and has a completely twisted view of theology. It is very unfortunate for Christians everywhere that there are so many religious fanatics that run around passing judgment on everyone and everything. If they would look at the source material for Christianity, they would see that judging others is condemned. I don't blame you and others for having the opinions you do about Christianity given the example you have had. But watch out for biased sources like Jesus Camp that are bent on making Christians look like a bunch of creepy cultists.
