Well, I'm kind of embarrassed even posting this idea, and I apologize in advance. N00b here. Please bear with me. lol. I just stumbled upon the forum section of this site a few days ago (even after sigining the petition way back when), and my mind is officially blown after browsing the board and hearing about all of these fan edits and preservation efforts. I mean... seriously. I must've been living under a rock this entire time, because I had no idea this particular kind of community existed.

ANYWAY. Getting to the point. I've gone through all the sticky threads and have a very vague idea of how things work, but I'm still a bit in the dark of how to get started with all of this stuff. I've heard the "PIF" method mentioned, but I would be interested to learn more about how exactly that works... how to contact people, etc. I also don't have a DVD burner (being a poor college student sucks), so I'd be curious to know if any other methods besides torrenting and burning are available? So, I was just wondering if a basic FAQ would be possible for n00bs like me? Like a "How Things Work" thread or something like that. I'm really excited to have joined this community, and hopefully I can contribute back in some way. I'm really interested in the custom DVD covers, especially, because I'm a junkie for Photoshop. LOL.
