Another relatively simple one.

I wish someone would take the French (and only) DVD of KILLING ZOE Director's Cut and add English subtitles for the French-language sequences. Of course, the theatrical version could be utilized for the correct subtitles.

That is all.

definitely. I didn't know there was a director's cut of KZ

I think I might just have been able to get my hands on a ROCKY V Workprint. Would anybody be interested in having a go at cleaning it up adn or making a DVD cover for it also? PM me.

Also I had an idea would anybody like to try and edit the scenes of Micky from V into the first film (being thats when they are supposed to have happened).

And I'd still like to see III featuring Queen's "Another One Bites the Dust", as originally intended, where “Eye of the Tiger” now is.

IV was the only movie of the series not to begin with the moving "Rocky" logo and Bill Conti music score. That I’d like fixed and have most of the score (if not all) replaced with Conti's.

Also in V I’d like most of the horrible early 90’s music removing and replacing with more of Bill Conti’s music and songs from I-IV instead, however the workprint apperantly has exactly that, being that the score and songs had yet to be finalised when the print was put together.

Not really a fanedit, but a preservation.

I'd give anything in my collection for a dvd of the unrated widescreen edition of Miracle Beach, starring Ami "The hottest thing to ever come out of a Monkee's loins" Dolenz. The version they used to run during the day on HBO was edited, and the version they'd run late night was unrated, complete with all the nudity and sex scenes (sadly, I don't remember any with our little hottie Ami). Hell, if anyone has a dvd conversion of either version of the film, I need a copy. Don't even care about widescreen at this point.

I would love to see a preservation of the Rocky V workprint, that would be fantastic.

I'd also love to see a fan edit of the four current Highlander films into one trilogy. I know there are many who are solely fans of Connor McCloud and his films, but I'd like an edit that fits into the continuity of the TV series and new comic books (which I have not read, but know include Duncan).

Highlander I would be a simple edit, just remove all references to "The Gathering" and "The Prize". The comics have explained Connor's unique Quickening to be a Dark one.

Highlander II and III could be combined into one movie. Use elements of Highlander II to create a James Bond esque opening. Maybe find a way to end with Connor coming out of an explosion looking young. Then Highlander III could be edited down to remove elements that are blatant rip offs of the original.

Highlander IV could be reedited to add elements from the rough cut, remove the repeated section of the sword fight, and replace the footage with the blurred JVC sign to what it was originally. The blurring effect, in most instances, is more distracting then the sign.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks the Highlander movies would work much better if edited together to flow as a single story.

I was never a fan of the TV series but obviously Duncan would be have to part of the edit if we're doing the first four movies, because he's the main characther in the fourth film. I would incorporate that (and use footage from the pilot episode of the TV series to give the backstory on how they meet), but I still keep the main focus on Conner because the movies are his story.

I'm not sure what you're saying about combining II and III into one film, because they tell completely different stories and each has a different explaination of what happened to Conner's wife from the first film. Highlander II takes place in 2024 or something like that and Highlander III takes place in 1995. In chronological order, the movies are I, III, IV, and then II. (of course, they all have flashback scenes going to back to earlier times) I'd pretty much have the "miniseries" edit follow that order, and remove the "Conner dies" ending of Highlander IV so he's still alive in the 21st century and is an old man by the 2030s, having won the "prize". Of course, the whole "Conner wins the prize" ending of the first movie has to be removed, because it basically makes all the sequels impossible, as well as the TV series.

I first got the idea for the edit in my head when I watched the "flashback" 1500's era in the Scottish Highlands scenes from the fourth film, and realized Chistopher Lambert and Beatie Edney's new scenes together would work very well with the original scottish scenes in the first movie.

I agree that it would be quite worthwhile to remove the redundant scenes in the third film, and to cut down the bizarre Highlander II stuff as much as possible. (and fix that stupid sign blur in Highlander IV as well)

Not possible really until the DVD is released, but how about turning Rocky Balboa into a Rocky VI fan-edit? Begin the film with 'ROCKY VI' scrolling across the scene in the traditional text of the previous films, and then a recap of the street fight with Tommy Gunn from Rocky V, and then the final scene of Rocky and his son on the steps of the museum and then fade to the opening of Rocky Balboa with the Mason Dixon fight? Also, it'd be cool to somehow insert footage of Rocky's previous fights with Apollo Creed into the montage before the big fight (when they're doing a re-cap of Rocky's previous fights), as the reason there's none in the actual film is that Carl Weathers refused to allow Sly to use his likeness.

I would like an edit of Titanic which makes the movie more frightening. Of the course the love story would remain, it carries the story. But it would be shortened to what is really necessary. Then, when the ship starts to sink, the real horror begins. Bloody deaths are shown. One after another, often without any breaks between them. Some scene, e.g. dogs running around, are cut out. The love story moves into the background. The action mostly concentrates on the hopeless fate of the passengers.

So Titanic would become a real horror movie.

Someone probably could get really creative splicing all the different Titanic movies together. Although seeing David Warner in two different roles, (he was a lower decks passenger in S.O.S Titanic) might cause mass confusion.

I think this has been brought up before but hasn't been done (correct me if I'm wrong). Would anybody be willing to try an edit of Superman with elments of the Smallville series, either putting them into the original Supes film or Superman Returns?

I think the main problem with that (apart from the fact that a lot people would think that'd be some sort of sacrilege) is that it just wouldn't mesh well. The cinematography, budget, cast all look too different for it to work in either the Reeve films or the Routh film.

I've thought about editing seasons of Smallville into lengthy 'movies' - as wmgan has done with Buffy season 6. I think that season 4 would be the easiest to do so far as it is quite cinematic in parts and you could really streamline it to be all about the search for the stones. The only thing, apart from real-life and time issues, that has kept me from attempting it is the ridiculous witch junk. Most of it could be edited out. The problem arises when you get to China, how can you edit the episode to make sense if Lana all of a sudden becomes a witch. The nice thing about season 5 I think is that it's the first season to have 5.1 sound (maybe that's only on the HD-DVD release though which has been delayed).

I see what you mean, hmm how about something then that takes the opening of Donner Superman and up til we see Supes for the first time fly from his fortress and see if it can be reconstructed with shots and scenes from Smallville, obviously the time on Krypton couldn't be done but all the time of Clark at home could be redone using the Smallville series. I'm not interested in putting it into any film I'd just like to see those scenes re-made with Smallive series footage.

Does anyone think a one epic edit of all the Back To The Futures could work? And I don't mean just link them all together one after the other. I mean start with Part I as normal but then when you get to Marty in the 50's you start seeing the relevent shots of Part II appearing, I'm a bit stuck after that I'm not sure wether to go back into the first film for the ending. Actually hang on it just isn't going to work is it? What would happen after you get to 2015. Oh forget it.

Has anyone thought or done an edit of any of the Evil Dead games? Now that I'd love to see.

I've actually thought about that. The biggest bugaboo would be the fact that you have two different 1985 Jennifers, and it would be weird in one movie. However, cutting II and III together could produce some interesting results.

Like with Memento I am hoping that may happen when a special edition is released, but that also may ruin the film drastically, as it was a Christopher priest novel that the movie script was structured on, it may make it very mundane if put in chronological order. we will have to wait and see if it comes to light?

Part of the reason I love Chris Nolan's last two films so much is due to the editing. I love the combo of flashbacks/music/voice over that he uses.

How difficult would it be to alter the colour of things in Star Trek The Motion Picture? I mean changing the set sceme to better match that of the films II-VI, and also the uniforms is it possible to change the colours and get some good old fashioned bright red, blue and gold in there!

How about a version of MEATBALLS with the original Rick Dees theme song instead of the strange Bill Murray substitute that's been doing the rounds for the past few years?

How about a Fan Edit of:
http://lombardresearch.temple.edu/p4/images/Futureworld.jpg

This 1976 movie could be a "Not So Bad" short film with some skillful edits.

It could also be tagged onto the end of a fan re-edit of "Westworld" as a kind of 3rd act.

As far as I know, "Futureworld" is not on official DVD...

I'd like to see an ultimate edit of Fast Times at Ridgemont high.
The TV broadcast version included: some scenes never released elsewhere;
and a few smaller scenes that were in the theatrical cut, but not the DVD version.

While I love the fan edit phenomenon, it seems like 80% of them is basically putting deleted scenes back in, or the same thing with extra footage from broadcast airings.

This might be fun, but I'd hardly call them fan edits, or even worth watching.

Still to this day, the greatest fan edit of them all is "Attack of the Phantom." This total rework of the movie completely transformed the film and is the first time I enjoyed one of the prequels.

Of course, this kind of edit requires a movie that NEEDS it... a film that essentially has a good story but is so bogged down with unesseccary and/or misdirected scenes that a good edit CAN fix it... and it requires a LOT of skill and patience on the part of the fan editor.

When I see "Time for edit: 2 days" I just can;t imagine it's really worth watching.

Let's see if we can come up with films like Attack of the Clones that, with some good editing, can really change a mediocre film into something better.

The Donner Cut of Sup II is another great example, but of course they had access to footage we'll never get our hands on...
