Ah, in that case I'll wait.

I was very anticipatory before--now I'm REALLY anticipating seeing this thing in my mailbox.

Thanks three million, ADM. Can't wait to see it.

Question: Did you leave the credits alone? One of the very few criticisms I had about Superman Redeemed was that the opening credits felt very CBB to me, and NOT ADM. Although I understand that was your first crack, I think, at your own titles.

Superman Returns credits are untouched. I liked them as they were. I never learned how to do the cool 3-D pulls for Superman Redeemed. Oh, to have access to the software either Singer or Thau used. That over the background plates I used from STM would have been perfect.

Just watched Redeemed, one of the most impressive fan edits i've seen. I hadn't seen either film in a long time, so i could barely tell where things were removed and/or added. All around a great fan edit, recommended to everyone.
I'm always looking to trade my edits, if you don't want to get them from a torrent. PM or e-mail!

Above all else, it's a time saver. You can watch the good stuff from two films without the bad stuff, all in about an hour and a half.

Thanks for the bonus, DAYV. I guess good things come to those who wait afterall.

I like what I've seen from ADM's SR outline, though if there were one more change I could make it would be the deletion of the CGI Superman flying through the clouds at the end. What was that all about? IMO that should have been cut and Superman gone straight from Lois' house to the flyover, with the music timed the way it was in the originals, leading into the Superman March for the credits, not ending abruptly only the start again once the credits roll.

Using Boba Feta's ADM SW covers as a guide, and a bunch of Jim Bower's excellent artwork from CapedWonder.com, here's what I've come up with.

Hi-res download is here.

Report any typos and I'll fix as quickly as I can.

I'm also working with DAYV to fix a small typo on one of the menus. If my trick doesn't work, it's not a big enough deal for me to lose sleep over. Stay tuned.

I read the cuts to Superman Returns. Did you do anything about the opening credits?
They could have cut the budget in half without them, what were they thinking?
I almost fell asleep while they burned money on stupid, over-long CG work.

Edit: Never mind I saw your post above about them. I suppose you could have sped them up or just made a collection of stills.

When I saw the movie for the first time (which was on IMAX) I was positively giddy at the end of those credits. It did more to evoke the feelings I had in 1978 than anything else in the film.

Great work on the Hybrid Cut ADM.. This is my first experience viewing a fan-edit and in light of your efforts I think I'm going to consider watching more fan edits in the future. Very nicely done. It really does take the best elements of each film to create an overall better film.

One thing I'm curious about: I don't know if anyone else has experienced this, but at the 3:52 mark, just as the planet explodes, there's a 'pop' in the audio. Is there something wrong with my speakers or was this simply a technical difficulty that was unavoidable for ADM?

I haven't noticed it myself, but I've heard of similar problems with Alderaan's explosion where the subwoofer overdrives. Not sure of the cause, as I haven't elevated any levels.

Well, in any case, it's only a minor problem. The project, as a whole, is fantastic. Thank you for doing it. And thanks to PSYCHO DAYV for offering to send me a copy all the way up here in Canada. I'm looking forward to showing it to my family and friends.

By the way, are you a Star Trek fan by any chance? If so, are you considering a 'Nemesis' extended cut?

I'm a casual Trek fan, but no Trekkie. I like TOS and TNG and their respective films. Got a bad vibe about this J.J. Abrams thing.

I must say that after watching the Superman Redeemed edit that it is an edit that should go down in the hall of fame somewhere. These are two messes of films that are now made watchable Thanks ADM for the edit and sweet covers. Now a bunch 0f my friends want to check it out.
There's good in the Original Trilogy, and it's worth fighting for.
