One thing puzzled me a bit, though: I was surprised at the lack of references to or footage from Return of the Ewok. There are some prime ROTJ outtakes in there. Was it due to the available footage being so low-quality, or was there another reason it didn't get mentioned? Just curious.--SKot

I did think about integrating some of the Return of the Ewok footage but I just thought that it stands as a great little piece of Star Wars history on it's own. And whilst the footage of Wicket evading Boba is fun, it didn't really make much sense in 'Returning to Jedi' as an outtake. Perhaps I'll release a Special Edition on the first anniversary

I also decided not to integrate the footage shot for ROTJ that was used in 'The Ewok Adventure'. It was simply a few shots of Ewoks waving guns and their arms and wasn't really interesting.

And that fixes the audio, as well? I think that was presenting the most problems for the BE thread.

audio does NOT have to be fixed, because other than with a NTSC2PAL transfer, there is no frame loss or time difference to be compensated. It is the same audio as for the PAL version.
It works like this:
you have a 2:12h PAL version, resize it with CCE to a 2:12h PAL version with 720x480 (NTSC size), then use a pulldown program to change the framerate from 25 to 29.97 and there it is: NTSC (2:3 pulldown). The time stays the exact same, so the audio stays in sync of course.

Wow. This is amazing! The saga is almost complete:

Deleted Magic
Building Empire
Returning to Jedi

The Sith Revealed (whenever someone finally decides to torrent it; any takers?)
The Clones Revealed

How oddly... appropriate... that Episode I is left for last.

Good name and appropriate for Episode 1: The Menace Revealed.

I believe I have already reserved that name some time ago

If I did one for Episode I, I'd probably sneak in some audio from the Mike Nelson's Rifftrax version. You know, just to make a point.

Rifftrax version? what's that?

FINISHED:
The Sith Revealed - A Scrapbook
Episode III The Video Game - The Movie
24: The Missing Day
Star Wars - The Interactive Board Game DVD
Battlefront - Journal of the 501st

Mike Nelson's RiffTrax!

Phantom Menace RiffTrax

It's like MST3K but without it being in character, and without the robots. And for big-budget disasters (and a few good ones). The TPM one is pretty amazing.

Ya know, if someone else does an edit of Episode I with the Rifftrax audio track, I'd seed it till the Death Star came. ^^

Have you peeked in to the BE thread at all? If it's so easy, do you know why they're having so many difficulties?

no I haven't...supposedly the problem there might be that jambe already has used pulled down streams and this could lead to some serious problems.
If you guys like this transfer, I will look into BE next.

Boon, I think it's something in the way Cal is transferring it if I remember right. I copied that link you posted over to the BE thread also.

What program did you use for pulldown?

Fez: I am so excited about Star Whores.
Hyde: Fezzy, man, it's Star Wars.

Huh? That's not NTSC 2:3 pulldown. NTSC pulldown is from 23.976 to 29.97 fps. There may be a way to add pulldown flages for 25 to 29.97 fps, but it ain't simple 2:3 pulldown.

I'm currently downloading the SL NTSC, and adding my thanks to boon.

One thing, for future reference: ISO formatting is tricky (at least for my tech-ignorant self) because it means if I want to help seed a disc later on, having since burned it and freed up my hard drive, I have to re-convert it to an ISO before it's any good to anyone. Straight-up TS folders, I can just drag and drop. Thoughts?

Is there a DL NTSC version?

the way that Boon did this is different from how we wanted to deal with Building Empire. EVerything is still sped up which is the major problem.

Does the NTSC version have the 'fix' in it or will I have to do that once it's downloaded?

I doubt you can recreate the iso file. So this just rules you out from helping the seeding. Pity.

About the upspeed problem: yes, this is correct, the PAL timing stays and it is VERY hard to get rid of that (and I doubt it is worth that - but that is just my European pro PAL opinion ;-)).

Oh, and about "the fix". the NTSC vesion is SL, no fix needed, because there is no layer break.

The fix didn't have anything to do with a layer break. There was a bug in the authoring that told the disc to skip back to the menu after Chapter 23, that's what the fix was for.

thanks for pointing that out, RB (I should read more, I guess ;-). However, this is still not needed. The DVD is fully re-authored, no original file was used. So this should be working properly. You definitely cannot use the PAL fix.

So there will be an NTSC version of Building Empire too soon? Absolutely awesome.
There's good in the Original Trilogy, and it's worth fighting for.

JD, just watched the extras. Very nice work! I think that this is one of the five best discs to come out of this forum, definitely one worthy of praise for years to come.

Found the easter egg, too. Superlative work there
