If you want to edit with Windows Movie Maker, you could convert the .vob files to .avi files using a piece of free software called DVD2AVI (I believe you can get it here). Often, it can convert them in a way that appears to be interlaced, but if you set the option to "FILM", that tends to solve the problem (once you have the program, if you have any questions, you can ask me). You can also run your converted file through the famed VirtualDub, which can help correct any other problems you might have with the .avi, including scaling/stretching/resizing/etc. Then, you can edit it all using WMM, and you're in pretty good shape!
