So the DVD finished downloading yesterday and I immediately copied the files, threw in the IFO fixes and shrunk it so I could watch it without delay this morning (still haven't bought any blank DL discs).

Before I go into my thoughts, I'll just say that anyone considering only getting the SL version from Jambe needs to seriously reconsider. The SL shrink I did looked really awful in some parts and I'm really, really glad that JD decided to primarily release it DL.

But yeah, my thoughts: F'ing fantastic! Damn, dude, you really raised the bar with this one. The sandstorm recreation was incredible, as was the footage with the prop saber and the newly unearthed footage. The whole thing was so damned tight and professional, I've gotta add my voice to the chorus saying that Lucas should be paying you do to this kind of a service for the fans. This was really the first time I ever got a sense of Marquand as the director, rather than someone Lucas told exactly what to do. I'm excited to dive into the bonus features and easter egg after I'm done with my classes today.

Take a break, sir, it's much deserved, but I eagerly await any future projects you feel like throwing at us.

May be a stupid question, but, If I wanted an NTSC version with no 'errors', what exactly do I download? What is the torrent file name? And is it on Demonoid? Thanks.

There is no NTSC version at this time.

First of all Jambe Davdar

Congratulations on completing this Doc
I'm so sorry for talking so long in getting back to you
I see there are some great COVERS some of the guys have made
Below is my attempt at this, its not completed as yet should be done in a day or 2
also ignore the back of the cover as it hasn't come out the way i want it and the Episode 5 (v) on the side Spline
this is because I'm using the same Template i used for Building Empire, as i wanted them to look similar

complete version will be up to download in a day or 2 here

It's official....Star Wars no longer holds any mystery for me.

I've gone over the prequels frame by frame till I was blue in the face, I've seen bits of A New Hope I never knew existed thanks to Deleted Magic, I've watched in awe at how an Empire was built and now I've Returned to Jedi. The films I loved as a child, the films that held so much wonder for me, I've seen it all now, there's nothing left....

However, I'm not a child anymore. I'm a fully grown adult who loves behind the scenes footage and 2 discs DVDs just for the extras.... and I fricking LOVE Returning To Jedi!!!

Not that this is any shock. Anyone's who has seen Building Empire (and if you haven't then shame on you) knows what they're gonna get here.....but there's just so much of it. So much stuff that I'd never seen before, soundbites I'd never heard, fantastic recreations of lost scenes. Where the hell did you get it all? I mean, I'm a fully fledged SW geek but I can honestly say that at least 75% of the clips used were new to me!

Favourite bit - the extended, pre-effects, Vader/Luke duel.

Least favourite bit...and this is your own fault really JD....after making a point of pointing out pruneface in the briefing room, I really couldn't help but notice just how much the Emperor looks like him in some scenes

So, to sum it all up, yet another quality release. Inspiring and informative. We all owe you our thanks JD, if I met you tommorrow I'd buy you a pint!!

FINISHED:
The Sith Revealed - A Scrapbook
Episode III The Video Game - The Movie
24: The Missing Day

The NTSC version is about finished. I still have to run a view testruns, so that it all is checked and works fine.
So far it looks good.
I made a 5-pass CCE encoding with an average bitrate of 3500 of every file. It was a bit difficutl to set up the DVD exactly likeit was, but I think I got it solved quite well, nothing at all is missing and it looks about the same.
Judging from my personal opinion I would say the quality loss from the DL PAL to SL NTSC is no more than 10%, but I leave that to you quality freaks.

I will upload the NTSC version tomorrow to Rapidshare and after that, hopefully with some help form RS downloaders to torrent.

God damn light speed boon! Kudos. Are members still fighting with BE to convert that Jambe?

Nice to see you are doing a cover for this Sky_ (looking good thus far). I used yours for my BE.

Well, thanks to some really fast hardware. My PC took 11h for the 5-pass CCE resizing, which is quite terrific.

Sky_, I love that cover. However, I think you want to make that "V" on the spine a "VI", no? Apart from that, I think I like your cover best so far.

Looking forward to that NTSC, Boon...

Sky, great to see a cover from you for the project. If you see my WIP pics somewhere around here I was using the more common Jabba's Palace/C-3P0/R2-D2 pic. I was also going to use that cast shot on the back at one point but changed my mind. The reason I say the above is: could you maybe send me those two images in full-res? My cover'll be different but I'd like to have those shots for my collection of images.

Holy crap that was fast! Kudos!! Will the NTSC version have the "fix"?

no. But it is SL, so no one needs to shrink it anyway.

Blimey! I got to bed one night and then wake up in the morning to see another page on the thread with another review, a SUPERB cover and nearly completed NTSC version. WOW. Kudos to you all. You are all fantastic. Daveytod, you are always welcome to buy me a pint!

Sky - you do great cover designs my friend. I am so glad to see you do a 'RTJ' one. I did indeed use your 'BE' for my own copy. Just one thing, that link to your 'BE' covers is wrong. It shows the 'Building Empire Strikes Back' covers that were later corrected to 'Building Empire'.

Boon, super fast work mate. I really appreciate you doing this. An NTSC version has opened up a whole new audience.

Cheers

I watched it. And I loved it. It is pro-looking movie integrated documentary, just the way I can bear and even enjoy documentary and even though I am not the star wars geek, I really was entertained for the entire time of the movie. Just great and so much work!!! You have my absolute and full respect, jambe.

So it had to be released to the NTSC people out there anyway, now let's see if you like it (not the work of jhambe, because that is great, but the NTSC transfer I did).

The PAL DL version is now uploaded to Rapidshare. If you want the links, just shoot me an email.

Now if we can just get Building Empire transfered to NTSC, the trilogy will be complete!

Let's see what you guys think of this conversion, if you consider it ok, then I am availbale for another conversion.

Wow. This is amazing! The saga is almost complete:

Deleted Magic
Building Empire
Returning to Jedi

The Sith Revealed (whenever someone finally decides to torrent it; any takers?)
The Clones Revealed

How oddly... appropriate... that Episode I is left for last.
