Meedermow, I got the email and I'm working on the cover at the moment... however, I was wondering if you wanted me to use the iconic DOTD head image... or the machete-head image? I know the last one I posted looked like Frankenfurter from RHPS... but as you can see below. I've made an improved version more in line with the original image:

I'll be sending it out to a few key peeps who are able to up to both myspleen/demonoid and the newsgroups, also if anyone wants to get in touch and you have access to the means to Pay It Forward - I'll be doing some discs for you guys.
DarthCarr, cashflagg, crazyrabbits, CW, jonno, klokwerk - get in touch with your details and I'll send out your discs too in the coming days...
Apologies it took so long, the wait will be worth it...
So this is just gonna be the standard Extended Edition with 3 different audio tracks, right? If so, would it somehow be possible to torrent just the audio tracks that people could sink up with their own Extended Editions? Just so we wouldn't have to download the whole thing when we already have the video. Just curious.
ringo66 - I'm sure Jaiman could be able to newsgroup it and dark_jedi torrent it - their time and resources allowing.
joltman - yep, effectively you could take the tracks and synch them yourself. We discussed earlier in the thread the fact that just the audio tracks could be put over a slideshow for example so as to free up more disc space, or put into the ROM folder for peeps to do the very same exercise (since both Romero and Savini love to point out just about their entire friends and family in the various scenes !) - but as the project progressed - this was definitely the most effective way since we were dealing with different outputs (NTSC/PAL).
Someone would have to do a direct rip of this disc rather than use the original source material since that track would drop out of synch 4% for every second it plays and also there are 6 seconds cut out of that UK version - so those audio drops have been reinstated into this version and I'm too much of a curmudgeon to do it for a quick fix since I spent many hours doing it this way so you wouldn't have to
The disc was designed for the DVD experience, rather than a simple PC synch up - you'd be more than welcome to get the disc and do the job yourself should you so choose (you are totally right that the Extended Edition would be the same for anyone that has the Ulitmate Edition US version).
There has been a horse-load of love put into this disc - so if you have the means and the bandwidth - you'll be in for a treat; slaved over for the very purpose that you'll be grabbing the tracks for...
Much obliged bigrob - and thanks for part of the content to make the disc in the first place
Disc 2 will be more along the lines of a "proper" extras disc - full info to follow soon
Disc 3 will be the Cast Reunion filmed in September 2000 at Cinema Wasteland (119 mins)
Disc 4 will be the full mall tour conducted by Ken Foree and the airport tour conducted by David Emge (74 mins)
The last two are particularly fan-centric, the quality isn't 100% - but the content is superb ! These should be with you all quite soon - the last two are certainly not as hard a job as the first one
Yeah, if someone could torrent it'd be great. It's incredible that there are eight discs worth of content for this movie. I don't know about the mall tour holding my interest for an hour+ but the cast reunion sounds wonderful.
Meedermow, may I suggest that if discs 3 and 4 are the fan-centric ones and if disc 2 is more 'official', then we use the same front image as disc 1's cover for disc 2 and then discs 3 & 4 can use the fanmade black/red machete head image? Or do you have a better way of going about it? I've also made some time today to sort through my discs and get back to you, so hopefully I can email again soon.
Good plan - though if we could really push the boat out we could have a different, unique pic for each disc. So machete man could be disc 2 and new ones for 3 and 4 (time allowing )

I'm in a desperate search for this set for my wife because I would like to give the set to her for Valentine's Day. (I know, but horror is her favorite film genre, and she's a huge Romero fan.) If anyone would like to help me, please send me a private message. I have a good amount to trade, (Banned Bond, Building Empire, Van Halen (no Hagar) Bootlegs, etc.) or I can send blanks and postage.
