I think I'm just ahead of you nix. I'm at 92.3% and I'm uploading at about 150kB/s (the computer that's downloading it is on a T-1). As far as I can tell, the two people right behind me are in 1) Japan and 2) on Verizon's FiOS.

This isn't a competition though (I do enjoy seeing such a nice upload speed). Just wanted to update everyone with the progress. Looks like it'll be complete in about 8.5 hours.

If anyone in the States has this and would be willing to make a copy for me in exchange for a blank, please PM me. I really want to see it but don't have access to a DVD burner.

Very nearly complete now for a few. I'd like to take this oppertunity to thank everyone for hangin in there, expecially DAVY, the reverend, number20, lybertyboy, nix.nux, lordjedi, russs15, 8t88, fabwill, Harlock415, cbaka, Arnie.d, zaz_fan, kaine23, lito2187, gallandro and malbie (since you took the time to comment), and upmost thanks to the maker JambeDavdar.

I'm going to carry on with the seeding to get a wealth of seeders to fly alongside me, even though my modem is emitting clouds of smoke, and all sorts of lights are flashing at me, but i've been using spit and glue to hold it together over the past seven hours!

But, without futher ado, for the 1st of the bunch to get it,(in my best Charles Gray voice), i would like, if i may, to take you on a strange journey, back to "a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away......" i present to you..................Jambe Davdars............... 'Returning To Jedi'...........now Enjoy!

Should be ready to burn when I get home from work tomorrow evening. Have been consistently uploading at 50 kB/s since I was number #4 in the swarm. Can't wait to watch! BTW, will be playing this from my XBMC to my 52" 1080P HDTV!

Crazy Idea: Jambe, I know this has just been completed and you are eager to move on to other projects, but what would you think about doing a re-edit/re-encode using an archived High Definition broadcast of Empire and Jedi? I just so happen to be in possession of the entire trilogy in 1080i .ts format.

Good to hear lybertyboy that you're mucking in with the uploads.
Urm, 1080i .ts format, howz that looking on that mother of a screen you have. How big does each film weigh in at? How you storing em?

But alas, the real good stuff in this documentry would stand out like a sore thumb when mixed in with that sort of quality (sort of like .rmv mixed with in with DVD content). And i couldn't imagine Jambe tackling this all over again now that its complete anyhow.............Sorry to speak for you Jambe.

28 seeders now (at last). Glad to have you all aboard. That means not one has hit and run on this (that is great news), as majority usually do with torrents. Please hang in there though for the others that hang in the wings.

172 dowloads Jambe in the first few days. Thats the tip of the iceberg 'lettuce'.

Jambe,

I really enjoyed the montage/trailer with the Requiem for a Dream Remix by Clint Mansell I love that song, I made my own montage of Bruce Lee set to that song a while ago and it always gets me going listening to the score, the song is perfect for literally any type of trailer or the like. I did the same thing you did with the song too, Every time Lee strikes someone I have it so it syncs up with a rise in the score

Thanks again Jambe for making this film. I've finally got it downloaded and went out to buy some DL DVDs to burn it on tonight. Not cheap, but worth every penny. Anyhow...I've got a question Jambe and all, for the longest time I had wondered about the Lapti Nek music video I saw late night on NBC once. It was the full music video that is mentioned here in the film. So, THAT's where it was...the Definitive Laser Disc set. Is there any other place that this is available at either commercially or preserved by someone here at originaltrilogy.com? I've got a cruddy quality mov or avi file I'm guessing..somewhere around, but I'd love to be able to get a high quality version of the entire extended music video.

Anyone?

The extended cut is on Deleted Magic. I would have to root it out to see what sort of quality its at.

Indeed it is. It has just been used on the trailer for the new Dany Boyle film 'Sunshine'. It is an excellent piece of music.

I'm looking forward to seeing what Jambe has done with it on RTJ

I just want to say a special "Thank You" to Jambe Davdar for his hard work, and efforts to bring "Returning to Jedi" to life. This project is simply fantastic! I just finished watching it and all I have to say is WOW! "Returning to Jedi" is pretty much the quintessential Bonus Disc with tons on behind the scenes footage I've never seen, and little factoids I never knew... and I'm a HUGE Star Wars geek! Again, great work!

Thanks

I have a feeling it's going to take awhile to find a seed for your Definitive Extras Rowman. But thanks for letting me know. I checked my copy of Deleted Magic, and that was more a BTS of Lapti Nek per say than the actual video. So if anyone can seed the Extras disc I'd appreciate it.

Thanks again Jambe and Boba Feta thanks for the cover. I was actually hoping to get a companion to the one you did for BE since it looks like Jambe's going back to do one for EP4.

Okay, one problem I've run into... during the transition from Chapter 23 to Chapter 24 of documentary, the movie bails to the Main Menu. However, if I just skip Chapter 24 the disc resumes just fine. Any ideas here?

I think that's about the spot that the layer change happens. I tested on my two of my domestic players and three friends players with no problems. Are you playing it on a seperate DVD player or on your computer? I made sure I didn't use the 'seamless' function as not all player support it. So it SHOULD be fine.

Thanks

Although I intend to do my own DVD5 version, I suggest that only those who have received the actual DVD5 from Jambe upload it. It would make it eaer for any other who might have it to seed. Just a suggestion.

This could be an issue here, as my DVD player froze late on in the disk when i viewed it the other night(my player is getting on a bit and does this now and again). I navigated to the point after the freeze and it played the remainder fine.

Thinking there may be an issue with the source i've just flicked through the disk and the vob files on my PC, but they seem to be okay.

Just finished watching - at the risk of sounding redundant, I loved it. Brilliantly constructed both in terms of content ("I hope he's included a bit about... he HAS!" ad infinitum) and of technique.

Two small issues:

1 - I had the same chapter 23/24 issue as Gallandro. This is on a single layer copy DVDshrunk from the DL download (didn't have a DL disc, and couldn't wait!) Could be an authoring prob?

2 - A small typo - in the onscreen text regarding the original plan for the introduction of the ewoks, it reads 'acavern' rather than 'a cavern'. Tiny detail of course, but if there's another tighten-up sometime it would be worth addressing.

Otherwise, pretty much seamless...

Oh, if I can interest anyone in the UK with SL copies, PM me. Seeding right now too...

BUGGER! As I said, I didn't have this problem in any of my players.

It's definately something to do with the layer transition though. I will look into it and get back to you all. I know that some of the earlier players had problems with blank DL media at the layer change. How old are your players?

Another thing that might be a factor is that I only tested this with DVD-R Dual layer media and have not had this problem. What media are you all using?

As for the typo, it was on my snag list before I finished. I obviously just missed it. There is also another little error just as 3PO is jumping off the barge. The black slug behind the sub disappears for a second or two. But lets not forget the rest of the disc - it's bloody great!

I really wanted to put this thing to bed!

Jambe,
Don't stress over the small stuff!! You are in rarefied air among Star Wars fanatics today, my friend. Hold your head high because of the fantastic work you have done. Finished DL at about 930pm last night and watched about 1/2 of it--SUPERLATIVE JOB all around!

Thank you for all of the time and effort spent. It is not in vain. As a matter of fact, George Lucas should be ashamed because the effort put out by the people he PAID to do this pales significantly to the labor of love you have produced on your own time with very limited resources.

P.S. Thanks to the family as well. I am newly married myself and understand how difficult it is to find time to do anything, much less something that takes concentration!
