Okay, the problem seems to be that it's not picking me up as a seeder, even though I'm connected and have been connected. Anyway, if you change the "State" option on the filter to "Unseeded" or "Both", it should come up.

Well, you can stop looking for the Melies version. According to the "Previous versions of Munchausen" section:

In the late '30s, Georges Melies planned a new version of Baron Munchausen in collaboration with Hans Richter, a German Dadaist and surrealist filmmaker. Melies sudden death in 1938 halted the project, though Richter persisted in trying to produce the satire, using the Baron's tales as masks for making pointed comments. In 1939, Jean Renoir arranged for his production company to take on the dormant Richter/Melies project, now titled the Lies of Baron Munchausen ... As budgets were signed and sets prepared in Muenchenstein, the project succumed to the war.

ok well I have just completed my download of The Fisher King and I have to say, great job. I love the content and I love what you did with it. It's nothing less the a Criterion edition of a film that I love. So thank you for efforts and labour, the fruit tastes sweet! I made a comment about you not using the Fisher King font for the title, I retract that comment, I prefer it this way. Full marks for making the work look authentic to the style and feel of Criterion releases. I try to do the same with my work.

p.s. a lite smack goes out to those people who gave me guff for putting barcodes on my dvd jacket designs

Is there some sort of setting I can change on Turbo Torrent to make this work? Criterion's Fisher King is something I have been looking for for a long time!

You are quite welcome!

I can't wait to get home and get it burned Also a side note a friend of mine suggested uTorrent is extremely good - used it for a couple of things today and it seems to be (at first glance at least) better than BitLord. Evilash - I would use one of these two clients as they will most likely work from a fresh install but it may be the case that you need an account... after a few days of the torrent being live on Demonoid you need to have an account to download.

Dunno if that is the case yet.

Am REALLY looking forward to the Munchausen one

this should have dl'd by the time i finish work. Can't wait. If the Princess bride is anything to go by, this should be sweet. May I add I have never seen the Fisher King, so looking forward to it.

Thank you for all of your compliments. Each time I do one, it gets a little better, and this one is somewhere in the middle of my first one (She's Gotta Have It) and where I'll probably end up (I'm thinking Ghostbusters or maybe Polanski's Repulsion next). I can't imagine anyone will want Repulsion though, so that's probably going to have to go on the shelf with Othello. Either way, my professional life is going to start getting pretty rough soon, so I'm going to have to hang it up pretty soon.

The reason I'm posting is that I wanted to update everyone on the Munchausen set. I'm done with the first disc, as I stated earlier, and I'm about half way through the second disc. I don't know if the rest of disc two is video (which goes quickly) or if it's more damned text to copy over, so I don't have a estimated end date yet, but I'll keep you updated.

The thanks are certainly well deserved - before I came across this thread I was considering buying a Laser Disc player just for Munchausen!

The irony is now I'm considering buying one to do transfers of other films...! Your Ghostbusters idea sounds interesting although there is always an audience for the more 'obscure' films. Munchausen isn't exactly the most popular film in the world let's face it

And the update is appreciated bdev - we all appreciate the effort you are putting in.

I'm working through the night on Munchausen, with designs on getting it done by this weekend. I'm up to 581 individual menus right now, with a whole bunch left.

Yeah ... I've been putting in some wicked hours on this one. I'm up to 950 frames in psd format right now. My guess is that I'll end up with around 1200 by the time it's all done.

Hello, Ghostbusters cover is awesome.

Did you cancell the Dead Presidents project ?

On a personal note to Ghostbusters, I live across the street from the church that the Marshmellow man steps on when Bill Murry gives the line "nobody steps on a church in my turn!. And of course, next to that, is Dana Barret's Building, which still looks as it does in the film, with the exception of the top of the building, the building isn't as tall as it looks in the film.

I haven't acutally even looked at the set yet. My copy is a beat-to-hell old rental copy, so if there are playback issues with it, I won't do anything with it. Also, I'm somewhat reticent at this point to anything containing more than a hundred or so slides. The first disc of Munchausen took me 3 days to complete; the second is almost on its second month of clogging up my computer.
