I've not had the time to play in a few days. I'm about a quarter of the way through the Arbiter's Grounds

I've ordered WarioWare Smooth Moves, it arrived on monday, BUT... I've accidentally left the old address on the website and it got delivered to my parents place. Won't be able to get it for a while

I finally got a PS2!

My friend gave me his old, broken one, and he said that sending it in to get it fixed would be cheaper than buying a new one (and it was; only $45!). All I've got for it right now is God of War, Guitar Hero, and Katamari Damacy. Any suggestions for other must-play PS2 games?

Shadow of the Colossus, GTA Vice City and Metal Gear Solid 3. That's pretty much all there is...

Lego Star Wars and Lego Star Wars 2 is great, if you don't already have them for another system. They've released them for quite alot of systems.

I've already got GTA:VC for PC, and I've already set my sights on Shadow of the Colossus.

Has anybody here played Destroy All Humans? And if so, is it worth getting?

I'd go with Destroy All Humans 2 instead.

Also great:

GTA San Andreas, Final Fantasy X, Final Fantasy XII, Bully, Okami, Devil May Cry, Virtua Fighter 4 Evolution, Rachet and Clank series, Sly Cooper Series. Maybe the Jak series, though I didn't particualrly care for that.

Uhh, GOOOOOOD, I hate Final Fantasy games. I've probably tried to play five or six different ones, and they're all boring as shit.

I've got 1-6 on my PC emulators, and I can't get more than 5 minutes into them. After trying 7 I siad, "That's it. If I don't like Final Fantasy by now, then I never will."

Geez... you're a weirdo, Nanner. How can you not like Final Fantasy? Do you just not like RPGs in general?

Not that that is going to stop you from dreaming… Only in this case, Gaffer is actually a guy.

Any enjoyment I could have ever gained from RPG's was killed permanently by a little game called Quest 64. Other than a few small exceptions (like Pokemon when I was about 10) I just can't get into RPG's (Even KotOR).

Ugh! Don't let Quest 64 color your pereception of the whole genre! That game just utterly sucked, and it kept me from playing any console RPGs for years. I definitely feel your pain there.

Final Fantasy X is a good game. It redesigns a LOT about the Final Fantasy system--no over-world, and the battle system now takes place based on turn progression instead of whoever gets their little meter charged up first. There's a lot of strategery to it, and the game isn't as ridiculously unbalanced as the older games.

Final Fantasy XII does away with random encounters alltogether and has a battle system that's almost real-time.

How can you not get into KOTOR? O_O That's like the best X-Box game there is.

Hmm? The old games weren't unbalanced. Well, maybe FF7 and FF8 were (despite being fun anyways), but the rest were pretty kick-ass, classic games.

FFX is a great game if you like RPGs. Its just so incredibly long. But most RPGs are.
Personally, I don't like RPGs. I tried KOTOR, and no matter how much I wanted to like it, I just couldn't.

I tried playing Final Fantasy IV.

Little basic minions kept killing me because there are so many random battles. When you finally get to a town where you think you'll be able to finally buy potions, you find that it's been destroyed. I just can't stand random battles every five steps. That's not fun; it is tedious.

But see, the main thing I hate about RPGs, and the thing that in turn causes me to dislike most RPGs entirely, is turn-based combat. To me, that's just not fun; it's boring.

Uhh, and FFX didn't do that? You must be joking. At least in the older games you could walk around to different places a lot faster.

In FFX there was more time in between random battles, and there was rarely more than one path to take. And in FFX you could fly anywhere with your Al Bhed airship.

Anybody else hoping they put Earthbound on the Virtual Console System?

So many games I wished were on the Virtual Console... some of those will never be (Conker's Bad Fur Day).

Well, Bad Fur Day was remade for the X-Box, but otherwise, yeah, it's too bad Rare and Nintendo Split. Maybe they'll work out a deal where Rare games can appear on the VCS.

Just curious, but if Rare and Nintendo split, how did they get the GBA releases of Donkey Kong Country, which was also done by Rare? Did Nintendo have exlusive rights over those games?
Author
Time
Donkey Kong is a Nintendo property, so the games were their's to distribute reguarldess of who developed them.

That said, Rare actually published four GBA games after being bought by Microsoft--Banjo Kazooie 3, It's Mister Pants!, Saberwulf, and Banjo-Pilot. (Banjo-Pilot was originally going to be Diddy Kong Pilot but the Diddy Kong liscence was dropped when Microsoft bought Rare.)

So, anybody here have a Wii Number? Mine is:

Not much, and those battles lasted longer.
