Hmm? The old games weren't unbalanced. Well, maybe FF7 and FF8 were (despite being fun anyways), but the rest were pretty kick-ass, classic games.

Final Fantasy X is a good game. It redesigns a LOT about the Final Fantasy system--no over-world, and the battle system now takes place based on turn progression instead of whoever gets their little meter charged up first. There's a lot of strategery to it, and the game isn't as ridiculously unbalanced as the older games.

I tried playing Final Fantasy IV.
Little basic minions kept killing me because there are so many random battles. When you finally get to a town where you think you'll be able to finally buy potions, you find that it's been destroyed. I just can't stand random battles every five steps. That's not fun; it is tedious.
