I do wish it could play Divx files, but it's fairly easy to convert those to DVD as well.

What program are you burning with?

I burn with Nero (works with 6 and 7 as far as I know). I simply create a new DVD-ROM disc, create the VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS directories on the disc, then drag all the content (VOB files and whatnot) to the VIDEO_TS folder. I've also used strictly verbatim media in the past, though that's mostly because it was the cheapest good media I could find. I don't know if that makes any difference or not.

Interesting. I've only ever had trouble playing one disc and that was the last 5 mins of Underworld: Evolution. That movie freezes up everytime right when Kate Beckinsale is about to kill the big bad guy. Of course, that problem may be due to Sony's weird way of making their more recent discs. I read over on videohelp.com that some Sony discs (Underworld: Evolution is one) will skip all over the disc (the DVD spec allows it, but it can cause problems) to play the movie based on the way Sony made that disc. That causes problems with some DVD players. It was done to keep people from making copies of the disc. Unfortunately for Sony, the program they were trying to defeat was updated two days later to get around the problem.

And they wonder why people aren't buying movies much anymore.

Is there a torrent available somewhere? Thank you for letting me know!

It'll probably be a week or two before any torrents show up.

I don't think any torrents of this have gone up anywhere just yet. Jambe is probably still in the process of getting it distributed. I'm sure it'll be up soon enough

Jambe, hope some able people are offering to lessen the load of requests. Don't take everyone's sudden urge to get this as a sign of disrespect for your long period of working on this project. I'm sure once everyone gets their copy and sits down to watch it that they'll post in here about how great it is and thank you profusely.

I'm not here to make a request (will get mine from somebody else once the initial flood of requests has died down), but to ask a simple question: What was the final runtime for the project? I just want to know to be able to slap it on my cover. Thanks. Hope you're catching up with your estranged family.

EDIT:
I've just remembered to ask: could you also post an updated screenshot of the FCP timeline of the finished project, please? If it's too much trouble, I understand. Again, this is only for my cover. I also read (probably in this thread) that you didn't have a logo but you tend to use "JD Productions" as text? Do you have an idea in mind for what a logo might look like? I might take a crack at one... again for the cover. Lol.

To contact me outside the forum, for trades and such my email address is my OT.com username @gmail.com

Ash, did you post a full-resolution copy of your cover anywhere? You did a great job, and I'd like to be able to print it when I eventually download/get my copy of RTJ.

Take care,

Ok, I have finally got round to sending out 10 copies this morning. Some are DL, some are SL. Some of the freebies are Single Layer, but hey, at least you get to see it. And then you can download the DL version at your leisure (when Darth Solo and MoveAlong sort out Demonoid and the newsgroups respectively). The discs don't differ content, only quality.

Meedermow, Babyhum, Marky2004, DarthSolo, MoveAlong, Rebel_1138, Moth3r are among this first batch. I have some more DVDRs arriving this week, so I will post some more of the freebies out then.

I will then tackle the influx of your requests as and when the DVDs that you've sent arrive in the post.

Here's that screenshot for you Klokwerk. And I am glad to wait and see what you come up with for a 'JD Productions' logo.

My disc arrived today. First wave of UK'er requests - your discs have gone out this PM.

Let me be the first to say that this is a magnificent job, Jambe.

A true brother to "Building Empire" with, dare I say it, new tricks that have been learnt along the way since then, which actually means that it often eclipses "BE" !

A lot of (evident) hard work has gone into this. Whilst dabbling my toe into this type of venture (on a vastly reduced scale) with the Alien Appendix and Dawn of the Dead projects, I can appreciate that the mere smallest of changes that are made take so much time to synch up and polish to ensure that they flow seamlessly to the next and that work more than transfers to the screen on numerous occasions.

It's great, pure and simple.

My favourite bit is the "Revenge" crawl moment, I'll stop there so as not to spoil anything, but it's both breath-taking and (intentionally) laugh-inducing at the same time.

Congrats again, and those who will be receiving it or downloading it in the forthcoming weeks from usenet/bittorrent are in for a superb package that puts many making of docs to shame.

I guess you won't like the part where I de-construct Jedi Rocks and talk about it's Chaz and Dave origins.
