I'm a bit dim when it comes to torrents.

if I'm downloading and leave my abc torrent program to upload to other people that ask, does that make me a seeder? or a leecher?

do I have to do something to be classed as a seeder?

if pausing helps some people to get and seed, I'll stop, not sure how that will effect things though. not savvy enough when it comes to torrenting.
