Yeah, I asked Jambe about getting it now, but I think I'm going to wait for an NTSC version. I can play PAL discs with my player, but they don't display properly through an NTSC television (quality is basically the same, but there are jaggedy outlines ), so I hope a conversion is made. Who will be handling that?

Awesome! Glad to see this is completed. I definitely look forward to getting a copy via Rapidshare, Usenet, or torrent (probably Usenet and then seed the torrent from there ).

I've honestly never noticed the jaggies in a PAL release (maybe because I didn't know they were there). I've got a 50" widescreen tv, but I'm usually back 15-20' away from it. I wouldn't mind having both NTSC and PAL formats though, but I want this as soon as possible, so I'll get the PAL release first.

Thanks for all your effort Jambe!

Jambe, you should make yourself a logo or something for your productions. Kinda like Garrett has for his flicks.

How about a big shot of my face!
I generally use 'JD Productions' for these projects. Perhaps someone wants to have a go at a logo?

2. By the way I have burned the first Single Layer version and it ain't too shabby!

3. Some of you non-UK-ers are expressing concern about the pre-addressed pre-paid envelopes that I have asked you to send me. So in order make it simpler I have updated the FAQ on page 1.

Q: How can I get a copy?
A: If you email me at jambe dot davdar at gmail I will send you my postal address. You can then send me a blank DL or SL DVD along with a 'pre-paid' self addressed envelope inside for returning the disk.
If you live outside the UK please send two blank DVDs (instead of pre-paying the postage) and I will keep one to cover the cost of postage.

That's something I'm worried about too. Plus I'd like something NTSC-able so I can show friends at their homes, etc without having to bring a dvd player with me or tell them "Sorry, PAL only unless you have a multi-region player". that doesn't seem fair to me.

Ok, now I AM annoyed (note the lack of smiley winking face this time!)

I have slogged hard to get this project done. I live in a PAL country. I used mostly PAL sources. It is a PAL disc and it is FREE!

And you talk about 'fair'?

That comment was very ungracious of you Kaine.

It's not fair that he creates a version that he can watch himself first? Tell your friends that they can only watch it on their computer for now, but as soon as there's an NTSC version, you'll give them that so they can watch it on their TV.

There's really no reason why anyone in PAL land should create an NTSC version first. That makes no sense at all. That would be like asking someone in NTSC land (the US) to create their edits in PAL first so the UKers can watch it with no trouble.

EDIT: There I go taking to long to post again. I'm sure an NTSC version will be out soon enough kaine. Once someone gets a copy that can do the NTSC conversion, it'll get done and then distributed. It just takes time.

I never asked him to make a NTSC first, just mentioned that I do hope a NTSC conversion is made when the time comes. So cut the BS.

Well, you could be the one to perform that conversion if you need it so badly. And if you lack the skills to do so, you could probably get some good advice on these very boards. We're a team, eh?

I was merely upset that somebody could call this project unfair. I am doing it for us, the fans and specifically this forum. It's taken me months of hard work and many sacrifices to complete 'RTJ'. Lets remember this is a community. It's not all about taking what you want.

Okay, I would be grateful if we could get things back on topic. If there is any 'BS' to be said, I don't want it in this thread.

As I have said all along, I am sure some kind soul will do an NTSC conversion. I simply don't have the time to educate myself to be able to do it. In the meantime I am grateful for your patience on the subject.

Thanks
JD

The are 2 relatively easy ways to do the conversion. Supposedly DVD Santa can do it, but the one time I tried it did not work.

The other option won't give you the greatest results. Nero Vision allows you to extract a video file when creating a DVD and you can do that with the Building discs, after that you can create ne DVD from it in NTSC format. The problem though is that only the video files will be extracted, so menus and special features will not be converted. I've done it with a couple of babyhum releases.
