hey boon, what was it that you fixed? I saw the 2 different dezionized edits, but with a big gap between.

I think one of the big things was cutting out Trinity mentioning when Neo pulled the bullet out of her and stuff while she was dying towards the end, when the part where he did that had been cut out earlier. That and making it anamorphic. I could be wrong, though, I never saw V2.

Well if you guys are interested I'll post a copy when it's done...for use. [the cover]

Ultimately I have ideas for a Matrix 2/3 edit on the back burner [Don't we all] But that's fairly far off atm. Just got myself the 10 disc saga set and been in a Matrix mood. Might have to check out some of these Matrix edits soon.

Cheers, that's nice to hear.

I was considering adding something like a sentinel sprawled across the the cover in the background but I'm really liking the plain design. I'm not much a fan of collage style dvd covers. I might do it over in a higher res. Any suggestions for stuff you'd like to see?

Btw - I don't mean to interfere if you guys already have plans laid, I'm just sharing

Spence - are you sorted now or are you still looking for help on stuff like the intro that you mentioned.

i got a pretty good intro video, but a cool dvd cover/menu would be awesome. of course, id save the menu for when i redo it

i think i wanna get started on this project soon. What do you guys think needs to be changed? Other than the obvious technical/audio glitches, what do you think could be improved about this edit?

Some of the rough cuts bothered me, and i still feel like the film is too long. I'd love to get another ten minutes out of it.

i havent got a lot planned, fixing the bugs is the most important, the sound synching issues and video glitches.

however, i do realize there are a few bad cuts, a few things that im not entirely happy with. I want to change the transition between finding the keymaker and merovingian stopping them, but i cant figure out a way of doing it without adding in tons of Persephone stuff that will bog the movie down.

I also really want to get that Bane stuff over with as quickly as possible. The scene between him in Neo on the ship toward the end is half as long as it was in revolutions, and i still feel like its too long.

If at all possible, try to include a bit more of Persephone. For her actions to make any sense, really, we need to see some motivation on her part.

Notice the ETM scenes with Persephone were pretty much a carbon copy of how we see her in Reloaded - just delivering the same lines to a different person. She doesn't really get much depth at all from what I've seen, If anyone can do something 'interesting' with this character I'll be impressed. We do get a sense of her motivationin Reloaded - She's bored and aiming for a little revenge on Merv. Not that it's entertaining at all tho.

I actually liked the Bane stuff for the most part, I was impressed with how well that guy did 'Smith'. Although I guess that with tighter editing it could be more 'edge of your seat' type action. If you can heighten the shock of his "electric cable to the eyes" attack that'd be great too.

One things that's bugged me ever since i noticed it early on is that after Trinity and co. Rescue Neo from the Trainman and they are riding in the back of a car when you see Trin her face/head is covered with a dark green area - I can only assume they did some form of compositing here. Anyone else noticed this?

If you are looking for something to cut in between 2 main storyline scenes have you considered trying to slot in something else, Like Zion preparing for war or whatever...I guess it all depends on what you want in your edit in the end.

If you are interested in a detailed list of critiques and complaints I'm gonna have to go and watch the lot and get back to you.

I didn't read the entire thread, but I read the first page, and I thought the original ending you did sounded interesting. I don't know if anyone else suggested it but you should include it as an alternate ending if you still have it and/or can re-create it.

yeah i could recreate it. the ending worked ok, it sorta shows that neo was still alive. i cut it because it felt unnecessary to that actual story, but it was a cool little thing. ill include it on the next dvd release.

alright, i have a working version of the new edit of matrix squared. its running about 2hrs. 40 min. without credits, which is an okay length, id still like to get it even shorter.

essentially, this is the same edit as before, but a bit more polished and cleaned up. Certain scenes have been taken out, others replaced or added back in. I fixed some of the rough cuts and things that always bothered me. I think this is definitely a better version.

my big debate right now is whether to keep the "Where we go from there is a choice i leave to you" quote at the end of the film. I've never been able to decide if i like it or not. other than that, this is pretty much done and will be posted somewhere soon.

i have the edit completely finished, but i have a request.

i'd like to have a nice dvd to go with this edit. i'm working on having some special features and things of that sort. I'd like to have some nice menus for it.

basically, im looking for someone to actually put together the dvd. make the menus and things like that. i'm not good at that and id rather let someone who is good at have a go.
