There's no rush, Jambe. You know that we're all going to love it whenever it gets released. And we can all relate to this being a busy time of year.
Here's a preview of one of the 3 different covers I'm doing. If you're still popping in to read the thread; Jambe what do you think? I have several different ideas and this was just the easiest one to slap together. This version's practically complete bar text on the back:

I'm glad you like it. When you say the logo's positioning is off, if you mean the back logo I was thinking about moving it under the Death Star II. If you mean the logo on the front cover; the 3D preview just makes it look that way. It is actually centered. Or did you mean that the front logo is too high up? I've since fixed that problem. Finally if you mean the one on the spine, then I guess you want me to move it further towards the top of the spine?
If you get back to me with specifics I'll post an updated cover.
Got 2 different covers going. Might try and finish them today. Got any 'official' blurb-y text for a back cover?
Two eh!? I don't have any official blub. I am happy for you to come up with something along the lines of:
"'Returning to Jedi' is a documentary created by 'Jambe Davdar'. It combines the feature length film 'Return of the Jedi' with behind the scenes video clips, audio from the cast and crew, alternate angles, resconstructed scenes and text facts, taking fans deep inside the process behind the making of the last film in the Star Wars Trilogy."
I love you cover by the way Boba! I will send you some of the genuine menu art when the disc is complete.

Thanks, Jambe. I'll whip up some blurb text then. You never got back to me on which logo you meant when you said its positioning was off. Please do let me know.
By the way, I'd appreciate the menu art once the disc is done too - would like to use it in my new 'template' cover design.
And finally, boba feta, your cover was actually what inspired me to have a crack at a cover of my own again. I like it.

Originally posted by: Ell the Ewok Awesome cover. Realy looking forward to this now! Do you think it would look ok if compressed? Like DVDShrink does. Just thinking for friends, I only have a SL burner.
Hey I am ok for you to shrink this to give to your friends.

Update on my spanning spine set. I have also done a single standalone cover for Returning to Jedi and a disk label featured below (the darkened cover test logo doesn't feature on the covers its just a trial edition of the rendering software used to display the covers).

Thank you kaine23 and Jambe. I have your e-mail and have just sent the pic to your inbox. The McQuarrie image on the back of Returning to Jedi is a favourite of mine because it displays how organised and formidable the empire has become as such. I could use a screen grab, but it throws the rest of the set unless i change them aswell. I have a load of other McQuarrie Hi-rez jedi art i can look through. I do like the idea of using concept art for this because it takes the project back to the pre-production era, in a way linking up with the feel for the project.
Actually, im happy with the Deleted Magic and Building Empire covers now, but even after the rework the RTJ cover really buggs me. Guess i'll keep plugging away....

That's not a McQuarrie piece of concept art on the back of the 'RTJ' case! It's a glass matte painting by Frank Ordaz. You can tell this by the big black whole in the middle where the live action shot was composited. There is a McQuarrie painting of that scene out there, but it's not from that angle.
My menu uses McQuarrie Production paintings, have a look around and see if you can find one that fits. If you can't, I might be able to dig one out.

I really like using the Death Star for the disc art, as well, Darth Solo. I think it looks awesome!
So where are everyone getting these pieces of art, as well as their logos? Jambe (or should I say "Jambe", like the blurb you gave us? ), did you release a .png of the Returning to Jedi logo, or something like that? I'd really like to join the cover-making masses, but I don't know where you guys get all of this fantstic high-res imagery, along with all of your logos, etc. If you'd rather not post it in the thread, please PM me about it!
