All right, I've decided it's time to pull the plug on this project for good.

The reason is because I go back to college in two weeks, and I need all the time I have to get ready for it. So therefore I have no more time to work on Paint Wars, which was basically a boredom project.

SweHanson, you have my permission to take what I've finished and make it into a torrent. If anyone is willing to continiue this, then be my guest, because this is the end of the road for me. I apologize for any inconvience.

Please don't completely abandon this project. I think all of us would be happy to wait for you to finish at least the first movie, even if it took you ten years.

We all understand how personal life can take over our hobbies, but if you think about it, you already made it through 5% of the movie. That's amazing.

If you still want to abandon it, that's cool, but if you ever want to stay on doing it, please do. Whatever you do, though - don't feel pressued to keep on with this just because you feel like it's expected of you.

Even if all we ever get of Paint Wars is these first 8 minutes, that's okay, because it's one of the best things to come out of here in a while.

I'm sure Zig will be back at it again once summer break comes along. Afterall, he'll be bored and looking for something to do. Then, once the fall semester starts up, he'll abandon it again.

And the cycle will continue.

Now, in all seriousness, I've loved this project every step of the way. I think it's a great re-imagining of our favorite movie. I'd rather see it put on hold than abandoned all together (I suspect that's what'll eventually happen anyway), but if it really does get abandoned then it was fun while it lasted.

Have fun at college. Hopefully you won't get distracted by something there and end up dropping out.

While it may be disappointing for us, some of us fans who have tried quietly to get their own projects done, or watched other talented people do so on these boards, realise that these things can take an unbelievable amount of time and energy. To quote Gary Oldman in Leon, it also "does tend to get a little f****** boring."

It is sensible and prudent for Zigfried to focus on college as frankly that is far more important in the long run.

Anyway thanks for the great work so far - one of the best lines in the movie done!

I don't think anybody thinks college should take a back seat to this project. However, if you've followed ZigFried's threads, you'd know that he gets bored very quickly (from a few weeks to a few days). Sometimes he changes his mind depending on the time of day. That's also why other members of these boards have told him that it's probably not a good idea to come on here and tell everyone he's dropping the project only to come back a few hours later, when he's in the mood again, and tell everyone it's back on. Like they said, if you get bored with it, put it aside for a few days or a week. Most people here aren't going to bug every few hours or even every few days asking where you're at with a project. By constantly being wishy washy, ZigFried has earned a reputation for announcing a project only to drop it a few days later. That's made everyone skeptical about whether or not any projects he announces will actually be carried to fruition.

With all that said, I loved this project. I'd love to see it continued. I don't personally believe, however, that ZigFried will continue it or finish it.

If ZigFried were allowed back to the boards, I would honestly be happy to put up with all of his randomness if he were interested in continuing this project, or if he had another really innovative project to share.
