The PS3 has its own unique issues. Fanboyism aside, its expensive in comparison to the Xbox 360 and Wii. I think that it will be unaffordable to many, and others will decide it isn't worth it and just buy a Xbox360. As for the Blu-Ray player included, even if this format is a big success, at this time most people don't have HDTVs and can't enjoy it anyway. Sony doesn't have time to wait for this to change before the PS3 is written off as a failure. PS3s are still very few in number, but can be found in stores today. There are many more Wiis, and they are very scarce in stores. The other problem is that the PS3 currently doesn't have any decent exclusives out for it. Most of the games are also availabe on other systems.
Basically, Nintendo stole Sony's thunder on the PS3 launch. Sony started with all the attention, no one expected much from Nintendo to start with, but the Wii ended up outshining the PS3.
