The biggest problem with the Global Warming debate is that it detracts and politicizes things that we really should be doing anyway. We (all of us humans) should be taking better care of our planet, managing our natural resources better, reducing pollution, use of fossil fuels, etc. Whether Global Warming is real or not, a tremendous amount of damage is being done to our enviroment but it seems it is easier to debate around the problem than to actually do something about it.


I constantly shake my head at this debate cuz the solution is so damn easy. It's total common sense. But fear is profitable...always has been, always will be.

This is in regards to your statements about "America hatred" or whatever and I said that you didn't have a fucking clue which is hardly a personal attack.

Every single post has been making their respective points with only the above even coming close to personal attacks. Many of the posts have been emotional, but they have also presented reasonable arguments, to which you have barely acknowledged their points and provided a rebuttal.

So your gripe about personal attacks is unsubstantiated here....I think it would be better if you simply debated and ignored any so called "personal attacks" made at you. If they bother you that much, inform a mod and they will decide if punishment is warranted. If you continue to take this thread off topic by turning it into a complaint about "personal attacks", then you are clearly spamming, to which I will inform a mod to look into the matter. You've done similar things in this forum before and we don't have to stand for it.

My own opinion: the fear and hatred of Muslims expressed by some here, without qualification for individuals or groups, is similar to the fear and hatred of citizens of capitalist nations, again without qualification, expressed by extremist Muslim groups, such as Al Qaeda.

As for global warming, I am convinced, by the evidence I've seen, that human activity has accelerated the process. I am further convinced that, if human behaviour does not alter, the process will continue to accelerate, leading to many changes to the global environment which may start to occur within our lifetimes, some of which may be permanent. If the levels of Carbon Dioxide rise above a certain level, Earth could be at risk of a runaway greenhouse effect due to the fact that the factors which have reduced the greenhouse effect in the past (e.g. carbon fixing organisms, such as plants and algae, and the water of the oceans) will be unable to deal with the excess. A runaway greenhouse effect could, potentially, render Earth as hostile to life as Venus.

Just my own opinions, of course.

Wow..this thread has really evolved--------Well---to kinda clear my point---
Its might be a "circle" *kinda reminds me of spongebobs "imaginaation" thing)* but its not a cirlce that we are activly participating in-----People like Gomer disourage the clean blooded kiling of people who are HELL BENT and suicidal on killing us. I, unlike many others, have SEEN THE BE HEADINGS. I AM DAMN SURE AMERICAN WONT DO THAT TO THEM, BUT THE DO THAT TO US. WHY? Well they hate us, lets take a look at some of the possible reasons why--some of them are pretty shocking--
1.Religion-----Christianity+16th century islam CANNOT co-exist.
2Goverment, "free" country--
3.Filth(what I mean?)
4.Saddly they don't want their children running around in skimpy little out fits
5.They don't want their children to start fucking around at the age of 14
6.They don't want to turn on the TV and see porn and sex on EVERY CHANEL AND EVEN COMMERCIALS!
I'm pretty sure others could come up with more answers---Oh, and Gomer--NEWSFLASH! Islam does not just hate us (meaning people like Cable X-1 and I) BUT THEY HATE YOU, EVERY LIVING SOUL THAT LIVES HERE IN THIS COUNTRY, AND ALL OF THE WORLD, BUT THE MIDDLE EAST. The Muslims look at all non-Muslims as infidels who should be destroyed/cleansed/whatever. Combine that kind of mentality with strong hate and you've got a recipe for some bad stuff going down.

I think more than anything that this is a war of past and future. America and its allies represent the future of the human race on planet Earth. The Muslims have a very backward way of thinking. They come off as slaves to their religion, they have a poor outlook on outsiders, they treat their women horribly....these are all things that most societies have grown out of over time. The Muslims have not.

The Muslims have to come into the future. You know what the old saying is....if you say the hell with the future, then the future says the hell with you. The Muslims are doing exactly that.....thumbing their noses at the future. Well, the future is going to fuck them good unless they clean their heads out and beam into the 21st century with the rest of us.

Sorry for the double----But I don't hate muslims--Hell, I know muslims, here at school--but they don't go around preaching death to america---the ones we are fighting are still stuckin the 16th century, while the rest of man kind has moved on--what are we to do with these people------ Omish, i.e. are peacful people still practicing an old way of life....the muslims "old way of life" is killing everythng that is not associated with their world----i.e. the entire population of the 21'st century..this is diffrent than anything we've been fighting before and people need to wise up and start thinking rationaly about this.

EDIT: So muslims want to kill everyone and also kill eachother? Christians would never do such a thing. There never were any problems and bommings in Northern Ireland. Catholics and Protestants live side by side very peacefull.

Notice how both of Cable-X1's examples are from about half a millenium ago. One would be hard-pressed to come up with a more modern example.

Seriously, don't either of you realise that you're talking like empire-builders? You sound like colonialists, determined to "civilise" the primitive people by forcing them to embrace your own values and culture. I think you're going to have to realise what all empires have had to realise in the past - people don't want to be taken over and forced to change their ways and they will fight to the death to stop you doing it to them.

Why do you think the Palestinians fight Israel tooth and nail? Why do the Irish fight the United Kingdom? Why do you think the Balkans fell apart? Why do you think the USSR fell apart? WESHALLPRESERVE & Cable, it is quite obvious that folks like auraloffalwaffle and Go-mer absolutely refuse to accept that these savages want them dead and that their great country, the UNITED STATES, which allows them to speak freely, is protecting their butts everyday.

I have noticed a distinct pattern with these kinds of individiuals. No matter how many great points, no matter how many facts, and no matter how great an argument we may present, they will always revert to the standard "You brainwashed righties are so closed minded and don't see that those poor torrerists just want to be left alone" type of responses. They never bring any facts, just perceptions.

As I stated earlier, it will probably take another disaster before these kinds of poeple understand just how sacred and important our Freedom is.

This has been brought up a million times, but it sure is a good thing that these lefties didn't have any prominence in WWII or we would all be speaking German and we would never have known any of our Jewish friends.
