... hopefully it does not take someone you love dieing before you appreciate everything you have been given. Freedom. Saddam would have killed you if he had the chance. Bin-Laden will kill you if he has the chance. They do not care about your speech, your liberty, your children, your wife, your family, your nothing. They want you dead.
Freedom isn't free
It costs folks like you and me
And if we don't all chip in
We'll never pay that bill
Freedom isn't free
No, there's a hefty fuckin' fee.
And if you don't throw in your buck 'o five
Who will?

My own opinion: the fear and hatred of Muslims expressed by some here, without qualification for individuals or groups, is similar to the fear and hatred of citizens of capitalist nations, again without qualification, expressed by extremist Muslim groups, such as Al Qaeda.

As for global warming, I am convinced, by the evidence I've seen, that human activity has accelerated the process. I am further convinced that, if human behaviour does not alter, the process will continue to accelerate, leading to many changes to the global environment which may start to occur within our lifetimes, some of which may be permanent. If the levels of Carbon Dioxide rise above a certain level, Earth could be at risk of a runaway greenhouse effect due to the fact that the factors which have reduced the greenhouse effect in the past (e.g. carbon fixing organisms, such as plants and algae, and the water of the oceans) will be unable to deal with the excess. A runaway greenhouse effect could, potentially, render Earth as hostile to life as Venus.

Just my own opinions, of course.
