I updated my first post. There's a new clip: the complete first Jedi Council meeting. All in all I'm not content with it, there should be music which expresses a feeling of menace.
In the future I will upload all my clips at youtube because there they don't expire.
@Weezer12: I will give it a try, just give me some time.
The Geonosis Battle is very long, I noticed that once again. So it will take more time than I had until now. But I did two new clips, and for some variety I didn't use Star Wars music but music from Titanic. Just check it out:
Of course you can't help but think of Titanic at first when you hear that song, but it played out very nicely still. It actually gave me the shivers around the time 3PO walks up to Padme, with the Jedi Temple in the background (and that's not exactly common). Good work.
There's a new one up! It's the march of the clones on Kamino in EpII with the Imperial March. I'm not sure if the piece of music I took for this is already too dark. Just check it out:
I don't know about the Titanic music. It just isn't Star Wars.
It definitely helps convey the emotion of those scenes you've added it to Master Qui-Gon, though I'd argue that the Titantic theme as the soundtrack to a dog taking a dump in the park would make for a sad scene
Surely there's a piece of Star Wars music or a John Williams track from another film that will help still drive home that emotion without having to resort to Titantic? Alot of ROTS has some emotive music. Even "Across the Stars" has a certain sadness to it and might make better sense considering Anakin's motivations for turning in the first place.
Maybe try that? Otherwise, LOVE the work you're doing (especially the Jedi Council scene in TPM, excellent!)
@Dantha Fodder: The clips with Titanic music are just for playing around. They would never get into a serious edit of ROTS. But there are some people who like those scenes with Titanic music and they told me it makes them wanna cry and I like them too. So, playing around with music from other movies can make it feel different, but not necessarily bad.
I did something with the end of Episode I with music from a very popular movie and the result is astonishing and makes me wonder whether I should try a new edit of Episode I or not. It would have a length of 90 minutes, but I don't know if I will find the time and mood to do it. Editing the music is nearly the most difficult thing in editing a movie. You have to rebuild the sound effects because they can't be seperated from the original music, and sometimes it's even the same with the dialogue. If I decide not to do it, I will post this clip here, in hope that there's an editor somewhere outside there who want's do this one.

Good to hear mate! I guess the Titanic theme makes people want to cry because of the context it was used in Cameron's film, plus it is a very haunting piece. You've gotta admire the Irish for their ability to break your heart through music.
I decided to show you what I did with the end of Episode I. There are some edits and this time I used music from The Lion King. Because I like this video clip very much, I want you to have the possibility to watch it in better quality than the youtube one. So I uploaded it at GigaSize.com, but of course it's also uploaded at youtube. Here it is:
Always when I edit a scene of Star Wars and add music from another movie, it's not to be seen as a serious Star Wars edit! It's just for playing around with different music for creating different emotions. Of course the Circle of Life song isn't Star Wars style, but I like the scene I created very much. Qui-Gon dies. Obi-Wan, Qui-Gon's apprentice, becomes a Jedi-Knight and is now ready to take an apprentice on his own, Anakin. At Qui-Gon's funeral you see some scenes of Qui-gon to remember the time with him, after that his ghost voice says to Anakin: "May the force be with you!" and that's sort of saying goodbye, Qui-Gon's time is over. Now Obi-Wan is the master and Anakin is his apprentice. That's a bit like the circle of life.
I personally found the montage thing and Qui-Gon's voice over a little corny. I think its sad and powerful enough in the original version without having to 'drive it home' with repeat footage.
In the afternoon I worked a bit on the Battle Of Naboo. I did some cuts to establish energy, but in some cases that wasn't possible. "The Battle Of Yavin" was used as music. And it's not to be looked at as being a perfect edit, for example the automatic pilot. Just watch it yourself:
@weezer12: I could do so, but wasn't it you who wanted me to upload the clips on yousendit instead of rapidshare? And tell me which clips exactly you wanna have, I don't want to upload them all!
