Just a ting to throw out--I did today--but it was around 5:00 so I did not meet the crowds--------but I got a lightscribe Samsung Burner----Blank CD's-DVD's, a game controller (for a psx emulator) and a few DS games for my brother. Gamestop was pretty crowded too.

I bought a copy of the new Beatles album/compilation "Love" (which is AMAZING, by the way) and a couple of old used Gamecube games from Gamestop for ten bucks a pop.

I sort of did. I went to Wal-Mart and checked to see if they had a Wii and did the same at Rhino Games. Though the main reason I went out was to pick up some Doritos and Ovaltine.

I guess you could say I did, but it was the other end for me. I work in retail at the local mall, so... yeah, I was all up in that.

And speaking of the Wii, Chaltab, I got one for Christmas. I'm loving it!

Although my girlfriend beat the pants off of me at Wii Sports last night.

There is no lingerie in space…

I hear that the Wii would be upgraded sometime in January to include DVD movie playback and some other enhancements they couldn't finish in time for the launch of the system. Don't ask me to prove the validity of that rumor though (I haven't tried to confirm it yet).

I got a Wii for Christmas too. It rocks. I'm having troubles getting into the Shop Channel, but other than that, everything is as smooth as silk. Luckily, I've had a much less embaressing time with Wii Sports. I kicked my brothers ass at boxing, which is my favorite of all the Wii sports to play.

the Wii shop channel is awesome,I already used Wii points for Donkey Kong and Super Castlevania IV,and going to get many many more,and the only difference with the later version of the Wii is it will play DVD movies,thats it,everything alse will be the same,not playing DVD movies with the Wii is NO problem with me,I already have a OPPO upconvert DVD player and the PS3.

I got a Wii at the local release date, November 30th (yay for early pre-selling), but the second wiimote and nunchaku only came last week... It's quite fun to play it with two people. Right now Zelda is taken my sleep out, I did not finish it yet due to being a bad player and not having much time to play, one or two hours a day at most - but it won't take long I presume. Next month WarioWare Smooth Moves is being released on the western markets and that is a must-have, along of course with Mario Galaxy in March...

maybe I'm the odd one here, but I still really like my 360. I think it's funny how PS3 is sort of flopping. I'm not too sure of the Wii yet, so I'm just stay wrapped up in my 360 for the time being.

I totally love the 360. It rocks. The controllers are the most comfortable I've ever used, and the wireless is perfect. I only have one real 360 game, and only 3 total, the other 2 being Halo and Halo 2 (which rock.) Haven't gotten Xbox live yet, but I bet it'll only make me love that system more. It really is too cool. I think the Wii will be the best in terms of games, but for online and much more, the 360 can't be beat.

I think the PS3 is so overrated. People are paying 6000 bucks on eBay for a system with less than three good games out, is ugly and horribly huge, has backwards compatibility problems, and has few really redeeming qualities at this point, besides the fact it plays Blu-Ray. I hope the Wii goes the distance. It really is, along with the 360, the system to have.

Is the PS3 really flopping? If idiots are shelling out thousands of bucks for it on eBay, I can't see it doing too terribly. I haven't heard anything about it. Anybody have any numbers?

I don't think the PS3 will "bomb" exactly, but for some reason people just ain't running to get them anymore. Even my brother had one that he just could not sell, even at the price he paid, $700. So he carried it back to Gamestop. I think the price is it's main problem. I will admit that it is a reasonable price if you ONLY use the Blu-ray player function on it since Blu-ray players are still $1000 and up.

There are far more Wii consoles in the United States than there are Playstation 3s.

I went to Gamestop yesterday to see if they had a Wii. They didn't, but they had a PS3 sitting there. And nobody was buying it.

damn what is with ALL the PS3 bashing,I have one,got it on release day,and to date there are still NONE around(Gamestop,EB Games,Walmart,Circuit City,Toys R Us,etc.),and I friggin LOVE this system,games are damn wicked and to play Blu-ray is damn great too,I am starting to believe what some of my friends are telling me now,the people that are bitching about and bashing are people that DONT even have one anyways,probably because they cant afford one,so they make up shit,we will see what this system does in the future,and yes Wii is damn GREAT too,but in my opinion,the 360 sux,doesnt even have HDMI outputs,what the hell is that,cant even take full advantage of HD.

The fact that there is only one game on the PS3 that interests me has something to do with it. And Sony's condenscending marketing strategy makes me a bit of a schadenfreude towards them at the moment.

Yes, I don't 'even' have one and can't afford it, but I wouldn't really be interested yet even if I COULD afford it. Because there's nothing I wanna play on it but Resistance Fall of Man, which I'm more than happy to wait till 2008 to play.

As for the Xbox 360 not having HDMI? Doesn't mean anything to me. I don't have an HDTV and don't expect to have one anytime soon.

I do have a 62' HDTV so it means alot to me(having HDMI),except for the Wii,becasue thay came out up front and said there not a Hidef system,it is a "gamers" system,and they were not lying,it is a very cool "gamers" system.

Hey, I'm not knocking the thing hardware wise, I agree with Chaltab that the thing does not have but one interesting game right now. I CAN afford it and if it seemed like I would use it, I would buy it right now, but I just don't have any need right now. Just remember that there are a ton of people out there who just cannot sling down $700+ for a game system. Will I eventually buy one? I'm pretty sure I will. I think the market for PS3 will be much better in a year or so whenever there are more games for it and they have all of the kinks worked out, hardware and software wise. I didn't even buy my 360 until March of 06. As far as HDMI, that would be nice to have on the 360 since I am running it on a 60 inch HDTV, but it's not a deal breaker. I love my 360 online play, I REALLY love the way the controls feel in my hand, I LOVE the rumble of my controls, and I like the assortment of games available for it right now. Plus, it works real nicely with my desktop on the network.

As far as the Wii, the Wiimote seems kind of neat, but other than that it just is not appealing to me.

The biggest problem I've heard of is backwards compatibility issues with PS2 and PS1 games. I've heard some people were having online troubles, but it's not as widespread as the backwards compatibilty troubles.

I have not run into that problem,all my games play fine,I have all the Resident Evils,Silent Hills,Castlevania,Oddworld,and a bunch more.

maybe people that are having problems are not keeping the firmware up to date,it has been updated 3 times now,which is fine by me,if it needs it cool,the Wii has been updated a couple times too.

Darth, every console in history has had problems of some sort. Some were minor, some were major, most of them the owners never know about, but they were all worked out within a few months. 360 had the overheating issue. Wii had the strap issue. When I say "kinks" I am refering to the backwards compatability, the firmware updates, the lack of consoles to meet demand, very few game selections. Although I love my 360, I am not absolutely stuck on it to the point that I think no other console can beat. All I am saying is that IMO I think it is too early to get a PS3 for me. Here's some of the things I have read.

I'm still hoping the PS3 does well, even though I intend to wait a long time and see if its popularity increases, because I want BD to dominate HD-DVD. I now have my doubts that it will though. :\

The Wii is very cool on the other hand and I'll probably get one in a few months or so (when DVD playback is integrated).
