McDs also had a quick decline on their populatity. While still quite popular and easy to find around here, it's not like it used to be in the 80s - maybe because I was a kid back then. Now they offer water (they didnt back then!), fruit juice (although artificial), salads and stuff like that, and even apples. They started serving breakfast here a couple of years ago, but I cannot imagine eating breakfast at a McDonalds. Yuck.

The best burger and the worst burger I've ever eaten were both in the USA...

When I was working at McDs I always wanted to work during breakfast because I was a breakfast nut there. I used to make myself what I called my "Heartattack Special". Two sausage patties, 2 strips of bacon, a biscuit and a hashbrown. Mmm-mm good.

Are there any in Brazil, Ric? What other franchises are there? I always love hearing the differences between the American and "foreign" (to me) versions of fast food, ever since the conversation about the Le Big Mac and the Royale with Cheese in Pulp Fiction.

Ha! Are you kidding? The commercial empire of America invades all boarders. No where is safe from the banner of the Golden Arches of Triumph! Ever heard the song "Amerika" by Rammstein? I love that song for how very true the commercialization part is, which is the only part in English. Very wisely they switch over to German when complaining about America being world police. That way it had the chance to become a popular radio song and at the same time not offend unilingual patriotic Americans. But I still like the song.

Back to the main point of this post. It is funny what fastfood places you will find in the most obscure places. I was in Ohrid, Macedonia one time (I get around) and on the very corner of the sidewalk there was this huge kiosk with a McDonald's sign on top. It turned out it was a real authentic McDonald's. It was funny because all it had for a seating area was a few benches cemented into the sidewalk in front of the McDonalds. It had the "number 1" "number 2" ect. menu setup on the wall like American McDonalds do. But when it would close they would just lock its one door, and then close and lock the front ordering window. It is like this obscure modified little peice of America right there in the middle of Macedonia.

Oh yeah, and Little Ceasers is awsome. In quality and price.

Ah, finally. The definitive fight. The ultimate brawl. The final stand between two pizza delivery megapowers. I voted for PIZZA HUT. Domino's pizza is fine, but Pizza Hut is by far the best you can get when ordering from your home and wanting it in under an hour. Thier thin crust pizza is unparalleled, and I have a soft spot for stuffed crust.

And what happened the Little Ceaser's? Haven't seen one of those in years.

Little Caesars was great pizza. There used to be a few stores around Cleveland, but they disappeared years ago.

Jarhead413, are you IN Wisconsin? I really highly recommend Rocky Rococo's if you can find one near you. It is some of the most amazing pizza my family has ever had. The sause is very spicy, the sausage is huge (not like the dinky things you get at Pizza Hut or Dominos) and the crust is wonderful.

vbangle,
Carl's is the West coast name. In the Eastern US, its called Hardees and if you want to experience something as close to a heart attack as you can get at a national chain, the Monster Thickburger is, just that, a monster. I had one a couple years ago. I had it for lunch, and I was still full at dinner time. 1400 calories and over 100 grams of fat.

I'm game....now all I have to do is drive east from California until I see a Hardee's.....I guess by the time I do I'll be plenty hungry!

I love everybody. Lets all smoke some reefer and chill. Hug and kisses for everybody.

Hardees was it's own restaurant until Carl's Jr. bought them out somewhere in the 90's. They're not exactly the same though. When I was in Montana there was a Hardees open 24 hours, but it had some stuff you don't see at Carl's, like real ice cream. The CJ's here in Denver don't have exactly the same menu and have those famous "six dollar burgers".

While I oppose north america's politics in almost every way, and I've clearly pointed out what and why, I do enjoy the "commercial" part of america and I'm not against a "cultural invasion". I belive north america's role in the world is to save us from bad movies and bad food (and the British, music and comedy).

I thought they were basically the same. My mistake then.
I knew that Hardees was its own place. As long as I can remember, there has been one in the town where I grew up.

I wish there was one nearby. The nearest one is out of the county. Our (my family I mean) best guess is that Hardees hires non-union workers, and Cleveland is an extremely unionized city.

I'm in Denver too! I've never eaten at a CJ's though.

I used to live in Des Moines, and there are Hardees out there. I loved them, and still do when we go back to visit. A drive through Iowa is a great way to find a Hardees I think. It aint like McDonalds or anything, but there are enough to be able to get what you want.

I'm in Milwaukee until February, then up to Green Bay. I've definitely heard of Rocky Rococo's and everyone I know but me has eaten there, it just never happens to be when I'm around. But I think I'm about to make it a point to. Spicy sauce I think i'll be fine with but I'm very interested in these massive balls of sausage you present me with. (totally gay sounding...as it were)

According to their website, there's 2 in Milwaukee and 2 in Green Bay.
I couldn't find a picture of a whole pizza, but I did find this:
https://www.rockyrococo.com/images/super_combo.gif
Says:
Pan Style Pizza By the Slice
Super Slices (3/4 Pound of Pizza)

Looks like their sausage chunks are about the same size around as a pepperoni slice.
