some of those early streamline dubs by Carl Macek are on the ghibli ga ippai box set of laserdiscs in english mono.

There is a full frame u.s. Laserdisc release Of Totoro that has a full bitrate soundtrack I've been told, it's the same as that on the fox release dvd except less compressed. The japan region 2 dvd release also has the original streamline dub and it rivals the picture quality of the new u.s. dvd release by disney.

there are other strealine dubs I think worthy of at least capturing the audio off of.

we have already mentioned akira and the miyazaki films, but the dirty pair series and movies was also redubbed on dvd and does not have the original streamline dub.

I actually like the newer dub on kiki's delivery service because of the wonderful job phil hartman did as jiji the cat, and kirten dunst is great in it too. However I did not like the new totoro dub as great as the old dub because I'm already used to the old one.

I have to give credit to disney and the people at pixar for having absolute respect over mr. miyazaki's work, and the hewett's who take such great care in the translating of the films.

They have had some huge talents in some of their english dubs too. Patrick Stewart and mark hamill, anna paquin, christian bale and billy crystal among others.

here is the info from the laserdisc database on the ghibli ga ippai box set:
