This is sad. Seems rather sudden too. He was great on Raymond. Though my favorite perfomance of his was in an epsiode of the X-files.

This is very sad news. Rest In Peace, Mr. Boyle.
I'd like a qui-gon jinn please with an Obi-Wan to go.

Yes. Now Clyde Bruckman has truly met his final repose. Time to work on that closing technique once and for all.

You know, I had never made the connection that it was the same guy who was the dad on Raymond and the monster in Young Frankenstein. Completely blew my mind both when I learned that and when I found out he died (which was at the same time). Seventy-one is a bit of a sad number to me. I mean, it's not young, but it still seems too young for him to die.

Not that that is going to stop you from dreaming… Only in this case, Gaffer is actually a guy.

He was quite good in Taxi Driver, too.
“Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country.” — Nazi Reich Marshal Hermann Goering

Heh, yeah. That episode is in my top five X-Files episodes precisely because of Boyle. He was so passively frank and so depressingly fatalistic that he really got you to feel sorry for him. A truly skilled actor. He could handle a number of very different roles and emotions. I was laughing today about Young Frankenstien (I need to see that movie again).
