But still, there must be SOME way of rectifying it... I'm positive of that.

Anyone else who has seen the film that can tell?

And coconuts.... I don't know. Tinkering with a classic? How do you suppose it is re-edited into a Dalton-Brosnan prequel? I mean, isn't it too old, so to speak?

I don't say I'm not open to the idea. Although I would still have prefered a Dalton-Brosnan film re-modfied.

Well?

OK, I've made a short list of changes that could be made on OHMSS to make it both a unique film on its own, meaning NOT a blatant repeat of OHMSS, while also different.

Start the film a little differently. Cut (for the moment) the scene where M asks where Bond is, but rather, create a whole new scene, which features entirely Q. Shots and moments from the Connery/Moore films where Q is lecturing about some gadget he's made. You could get any shots that don't require showing Bond's face. Then, Q presents his new car to Bond, which will be his Aston Martin. Then, we see him riding the road as in the film. The film goes on as it is.

Then, after Bond finds Contessa's shoes, cut the "This never happened to the other fella" line and create a whole new title sequence. The song, instead of the (amazingly good, so wonderful) OHMSS theme, place "Mister Kiss Kiss Bang Bang", because the lyrics could be used to re-introduce Bond for this series that contains the Dalton and Brosnan entries. Likewise, whenever the OHMSS theme is featured, it should be replaced by either an adventurous rendition of the KKBB song, or something David Arnold-esque (he has quite a few adventure themes on his own).

Cut out any references to Lazenby being Connery Bond, since it tries to be a film that launches stories, doesn't continue others, with no ties to other Bonds. So Moneypenny's "even more so" should be cut and his office's scene shortened.

If possible, cut out references to SPECTRE. If possible, too, rename it to something more contemporary. Keep Blofeld, since he was and always be Bond's nemesis.

Any possible reference(s) to this being set in the 60's. It has to pass up as being set, at the very least, 10 years prior to "The Living Daylights". It can't be 1969 for the Dalton/Brosnan films.

After Tracy's shot, fade in slowly on Athens. There, you see Blofeld with some woman (Claudia Cardinale, from the film "Escape to Athena"), and we get the idea that he joined some revolutionaries. Then, we see Felix Leiter (David Hedison, from the film "Live and Let Die"), who's apparently speaking to Bond, as he calls him James. He has apparently informed that Blofeld is in Greece. Then, we see Blofeld answering the phone, and as we see Blofeld 's surprise at hearing Bond (he says his name "Bond, James Bond"), a bomb goes off. Then we cut to a close up to Tracy's grave (still shot from "For Your Eyes Only"'s pre-credit sequence). We then hear (that can't be Lazenby's voice, obviously) Bond say "Rest, my love. The bastard is dead." and credits with Bond theme.

Well? What do you all think? Would this kind of re-edit pass up nicely as a prequel to the Dalton/Brosnan movies? I think it could...
