AVI Editing (Brightness/Contrast)

I have some avi's that I would like to adjust the brightness/contrast of. Are there any good GUI programs for doing so? Also, how long does a global brightening/contrast job take with the program?

I can do it in Womble, but it will take nearly a day of encoding to come out, so I want to avoid this if possible.

Try Virtualdub, it is free and pretty easy and there is lots of support at doom9.org.
